@cybrtrkguy Me as a Cybertruck owner agrees, but I disagree as a Tesla shareholder. It's obvious this is the early stage for AI, It's now or never, focus on minor improvements that take up significant brianpower in the company is not good.

Why don’t we start with something simple like… -a WiFi hotspot -Summon or -Self driving cars … before moving onto decentralized agentic datacenters? Let’s nail the basics first.

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe in new interview on self-driving: "@Tesla's got a huge fleet. So our approach is we have to catch up with them and compete. And so we're going to have more cameras with better dynamic range. We're going to supplement that with LiDAR that provides better safety for edge case conditions and allows us to train the vision models faster. And the incremental cost to do that is relatively small. And in fact any of the incremental costs that would have been there on its own is offset by the fact that we brought inference in house and reduced the cost of our inference platform so dramatically from what we have in your car. Your car uses an Nvidia inference platform. I say all this because in like the infinite long-term you know, you could make the case that once the models are very very robust you could have less cameras or you may be able to get away with less radar. It's not clear yet if that's the case for covering all these corner cases."

.@TeslaCharging teams will be helping to get Digital Optimus units energized. Especially at long-distance Superchargers, we have large interconnections built for dependable travel on peak days, but sit mostly idle outside of holidays. We’re going to need a lot of compute and make efficient use of the grid through distributed compute.

@SantoroSystems I know your point, I just don't understand why you are this mad about it since you know he makes ridiculous predictions all the time and you are still holding those predictions so seriously.

Yeah it's much better, and it's infinitely worse than what it was supposed to be 8 years ago, who cares if it's better it's not even as good as it was supposed to be almost a decade ago... Mars is bad because he gave the timeline who gives the shit if no one else is doing it, that's irrelevant. Once again who cares if AGI has never happened before, if it's never happened before and that's why it's almost impossible to give a timeline for, then he needs to shut the fuck up... He says shit with no data to back him up because he thinks it sounds good, what the fuck do you think he saw in 2021 to make him think FSD would be unsupervised in 6 months.... Nothing...

You do realize FSD is late but much better, almost unsupervised. Mars, how is that bad compare to literally no one else is even trying? AGI, never happened before, hard to predict, why do you trust any prediction? Bro, try to be bright, like I said, if you gamble in predict you have the right to be upset, otherwise, have some patience.

@0xCodeater You do realize FSD is around 8 years behind schedule. Mars is around 10 years behind schedule. AGI is around 2 years behind schedule according to Elon. It's not being 5 minutes late.. you're smoking crack.

If you really believe his time prediction that's on you. Anyone who follow Elon for a few month knows he make ridiculous predictions and sometimes it's on time and true and some times it's not. If I have a friend that keeps on missing the time I just won't count on it, and I won't trust his prediction, I will make my own prediction, his predict is merely a suggestion. In Elon's case, I agree that AGI will come, and I just ignore his timeline. If you discredit his prediction based on the timeline, then that's on you.

Yeah except that's not even remotely close to the slightest thing that's happened. If my friend's coming over to my house, and he says he's leaving and it's a 2-hour drive. 2 hours go by, I ask where he is, he says he's 5 minutes away. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away. I asked him what the fuck is going on and he tells me that he's going to be there right away, and that he's sorry he's been wrong, there's no traffic, it's a solved problem, it's right around the corner! Here we go he's right there.. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away. 10 minutes later again, he says 5 minutes away.... If Elon said that something was going to take 5 months and it took six, you'd have a point... He's basically never right when it comes to timelines, but he keeps gaslighting you into thinking it's right around the corner. Yeah if that were to happen, I would call my friend a fucking asshole.

Wrong, percentage is time based, when it's winter, 90% of the time it will be cold, so Elon made a prediction that next few weeks will be cold, then people start complaining when it's not cold, and calling Elon a liar. Then the summer came and Elon said it will not be cold, Then people calls him a liar because be changed his prediction. The point is, it's good that Elon says what he believes at the time, and he has every right to change his predice down the road. It's not like you have money bet on the timeline, If you do, you have the right to be mad, but you are dumb to bet on the time.

@nickpi0 and before like 2019 I used to think that. now it kind of just seems like if he is 5% confident that something will happen, he will say it as an absolute fact whether or not it will ever happen to begin with

It’s 2026 and there are legacy automakers that are still shipping crap infotainment systems like it’s 2010. It takes 15 seconds for this Subaru Forester Hybrid to boot up. It takes 4 seconds for the car to even recognize that you tapped “I agree” lol. Horrendous lag.
Edmunds@edmunds

Imagine seeing this every single time you got into your car The new Subaru Forester's interface is unacceptably laggy and slow for a modern car

NEWS: Alphabet approved a $130 million @Waymo-based bonus for CEO Sundar Pichai. He could be awarded up to $260 million depending on the increase in Waymo's per-unit value over a three-year period, as determined by the compensation committee — essentially, the board's estimate of what a single Waymo equity unit is worth. sherwood.news/tech/alphabet-…
