@BreadMakerRay @SawyerMerritt Yeah and and that vehicle cannot charge it remotely those levels because it's using battery tech that's like 5 years old... The plaid model X has an embarrassing charge curve for what it is,

@MichalKrakowiak Weird, Yeah maybe it's just 'cause I don't seem to have any issues with my car door so that's probably why I don't see any value in it, but yeah if people are complaining or having issues with their door then its probably worth it

@SantoroSystems Also 2021. 80% perfect before keyfob. The rest was fighting with the door handle waiting for unlock. With three different flagship phones Lots of people mentioned this problem online, but everyone seems to hate the idea of carrying extra 20g ;)

@MichalKrakowiak Interesting. I'm on a 2021 without uwb and mine's probably 99.8%. I've maybe had two times in 5 years my car takes a second to unlock.

But what about them is useful? I'm not denying it i've just never looked into them because outside of the ability to tap the hood to open it there's not a single thing it does that I feel like I could use and it would just be a massive annoyance to have to carry it around to begin with. If I need to remember to grab it, at that point I might as well just use my phone

@SantoroSystems Only because most people have no idea how useful to have one. IMO it's must-have for anyone without UWB support

@rajuvamsi007 No, that's only a thing on newer vehicles. Realistically if they wanted they could implement it but they can't do it in the same way that they do it on the newer vehicles.

@reed I would definitely put power opening and power closing after a button, but it definitely would be nice.

Yeah, and that's kind of my concern now. 5 years ago we were actively paying attention to FSD development, vehicle deliveries were scaling, superchargers were getting deployed, mega packs were getting built. Basically every aspect of the business could be put on a graph with its numbers improving over time. But for the last 2 to 3 years, it seems like every positive aspect of Tesla boils down to: "In like 10 years this thing's going to be really cool"

@SantoroSystems I hope you are right. What concerns me is the timing of Digital Optimus and Terra fab... Those could used as narrative diversions to mitigate the impact of this delay.

I'm hoping that if my hypothesis is correct that they thought 14.2 would be good enough for unsupervised at scale but it wasn't, I'm hoping the delay between 14.2 and 14.3 is them just training the shit out of 14.3.. Getting it even better than it would have been just so it's ready and aligned with the cybercab.

@DBurkland @pbeisel It’s in testing right now. Wide release in a few weeks.

Better than a human without any supervision whatsoever, and realistically probably 4 months ago.. The hard deadline is basically next month. And yes they are better than all of those people and if we had some magical way to force those specific people to use FSD, the world would be a beautiful place... But we don't.

@SantoroSystems @28delayslater How good they need to be? And what is on time? They’re already better than distracted or impaired driver, learn faster than new drivers. People started flying airplanes as they become reasonably reliable

With 170M miles driven through Dec 2025, the data continues to validate our safety-first approach. Proud of our strong safety record and the real-world impact we’re making. Here’s what it looks like in practice.
Waymo@Waymo

Our new safety data is in 📈 Over 170M miles through Dec 2025, the Waymo Driver was involved in 13x fewer serious injury or worse crashes than human drivers in those same cities. At our current scale, that means preventing a serious injury crash every 8 days—a real, positive impact on road safety. Learn more: waymo.com/safety/impact/

Of course none of the examples that you mentioned are actually the ones that were asking.. The question is whether or not any of these new versions that are going to come out in the next couple weeks or months are going to be on time or remotely as good as they need to be. As for a human driving is getting better, yes...

@28delayslater @SantoroSystems What are guys questioning? That they work on next version of FSD or that each version is better than the one before? Is human driving getting any better? What’s the upshot here?

@Stonefoxcapital This is what happens when you tweet about something where the link doesn't actually go to where it's supposed to. I'd probably know that information if the link provided brought me to a website that explained it instead of just rerouting to rivian's main website

I get that they're excited about autonomy, but I don't think it's a good look to be partnering First off five years into the future, but also you haven't actually shown anything yet... get point to point working first!
Rivian@Rivian

A fleet of R2 Robotaxis is coming exclusively to @Uber. ⚡🌿 Today, we announced a partnership to help both companies accelerate their autonomous vehicle plans across 25 cities in the US, Canada and Europe by the end of 2031. rivn.co/uber

Oh yeah, I haven't looked over all of the partnerships but I would say Rivian's definitely one of the more likely candidates, it just feels like because Uber has done so many partnerships and Rivian hasn't really shown anything even on par with a hands free version of V10, it just seems premature

@SantoroSystems I feel like Uber has announced 15 partnerships like that in the past 2 yrs. Yet, I definitely believe the R2 is a more likely Robotaxi to succeed than anything Lucid can come up with anytime soon.

@_JulianoRossi I honestly don't use it for storage unless it's something that I might access maybe once or twice a year. The fact that I have to go into the app Or go into the car just makes it way less useful. I can at least walk up and just open the trunk

@SantoroSystems I don’t get how people don’t use the frunk all the time. It’s so much more useful than the trunk.
