@49erBigTimer @xanbarksdale 2026 official rule book is not yet available on MLB dot com, so I have to rely on other sources. One said the appeal must be immediate. One said "within 2 seconds". I saw somewhere that it must be the first action. So why did the umps grant this appeal? Improper application?

Interesting ABS situation here.
3-2, runner goes, ball 4 is called and he pulls up into 2B. Catcher challenges… and now you start to wonder what would happen if it’s overturned.
Are the announcers right, would this become a double play? Or would the umpires send the runner back to first since the original call influenced the play?

@xanbarksdale Think I read the challenge has to be the first action, right? So if he threw down, that's an action, and forfeit of the right to challenge?
Just the other day, batter had full count. Thought it was ball 4, flipped his bat, and in doing lost his right to challenge strike3.
