@rudystartedc19 @MikeHerndonSk1 Outside of athleticism/mobility, Arch has a significantly better arm than Mendoza. He also runs way more NFL concepts and shows the ability to get to his 2nd/3rd read at a higher frequency than Mendoza. Lastly, Arch at 15 career starts >>> Mendoza/Moore at 15 career starts.

@MikeHerndonSk1 Arch Manning may be great, but he’s still one of the most overhyped prospects oat. He’s not yet better than Mendoza at anything except running. He’s may very well have a great season, but based on last year arch isn’t in the same stratosphere.

I know people have a tendency to hype up “next year’s draft” but… Arch Manning would be QB1 in this class Jeremiah Smith would be WR1 Cam Coleman would be WR1 Colin Simmons would be EDGE1 Leonard Moore would be CB1 Jordan Seaton would be OT1 Trevor Goosby would be OT1

@nscllc2005 @MikeHerndonSk1 Actually the Mannings have been on top of the data for years. No matter how talented or productive a QB prospect is there’s a certain # of college starts that correlates to NFL success. Arch is at 15 career starts. 25 career starts is the minimum. He was always coming back.

@MikeHerndonSk1 QB1 and subsequently #1 overall is not going back to school because he has famous uncles that believe in that. If he was really QB1 he’s not starting for Texas this year

@demarco_82 @AriWasserman Except he probably would have. He handles pressure extremely well. Has top tier playmaking ability. Has strong pocket navigation and presence. arm talent/frame/athleticism are elite. routinely gets to his 2nd/3rd read. Go look at where Moore/Mendoza were at 15 starts. Arch clears

@AriWasserman If we’re being intellectually honest a lot of it has to do with putting him on a level he hasn’t earned lol. Even saying he would’ve been #1 this years draft despite how he looked most of last season. If his last name was anything else nonsense like that wouldn’t be said.

Arch Manning gets a ton of hate he, frankly, doesn't deserve. "Everybody wants to see him fail, unless you're a Texas fan, and I don't know what it is." youtu.be/9c0A-JjkNqk

@ScottBarrettDFB @ryKeough @NoFilm_Analysis Lemon’s yprr is 3.34 if screens are removed. His yprr is 3.62 on snaps outside of the slot. He is one of the most efficient and effective receivers on passes 20+ yards down the field No on is forcing you to like Lemon, but there is no credible data-based argument against him

I Don’t Watch Film (Football Analytics)
It’s genuinely so fascinating to me that Makai Lemon’s only “red flags” are speed and size concerns, despite him having the same build or similar speed as some of the best receivers in the NFL, yet he’s not somehow consensus WR1. It’s like no one learned from the JSN draft fall
Connor Hughes@Connor_J_Hughes

The receiver debate in this year's draft is a fascinating one. Jordyn Tyson is the one with true WR1 potential, from talking to multiple high-ranking evaluators. The issue is, obviously, injuries. Carnell Tate is far safer, but ceiling is high-end WR2. That's not bad, but not usually one selected top-10. There is a "big gap," one told me, between Tate/Tyson, and whoever you feel WR 3 is.

@Akuro316 @GuastadRounds @NoFilm_Analysis He was measured at the combine and was 5’11” and change. The team deciding to list him at 6’ doesn’t make him 6’. There is no way you are this naive. Still haven’t explained Steve Smith, AB, Emmanuel Sanders, OBJ, Nabers, Tyreek, Flowers, Waddle, welker, golden tate, TY Hilton

@GuastadRounds @NoFilm_Analysis Explain. Amon Ra is 6 ft now and every other elite WR is closer to 6ft than they are to 5’11. A 1/2 inch difference can make a difference especially when you have shorter arms and are not an elite athlete or at least have elite speed.

Teams Texas beat that LSU lost to in 2025: A&M, OU, Vanderbilt You got us on Florida but last I checked 3 losses doesn’t get you a playoff bid. Sorry champ.

@billyliucci @ccwarcat @AmandaMAtwell @Moving_Goalpost I think NFL projection goes hand in hand with evaluating actual QB play. Sure, sometimes you get a Kellen Moore or Colt McCoy type that have limited NFL ceilings but are highly effective college QBs. However for the sake of comparing QB talent, NFL projection matters a ton.

Peak offseason means our circular argument - Arch v. Marcel - continues. We know what the stats say but what do the stats against COMMON opponents say, @billyliucci asks?? Maybe next time look them up yourself before asking. Listen to @Moving_Goalpost @ the link in my bio 🔗

@ccwarcat @billyliucci @AmandaMAtwell @Moving_Goalpost The raw stats and numbers mean very little when it comes to NFL evaluation. They are going to look at his tape/film, not his box scores. The NFL is all about projectable traits. Production and number of starts matters, but it is secondary.

@billyliucci @Alec_Gators @AmandaMAtwell @Moving_Goalpost I believe Reed can make the NFL. He’s going to need numbers, though. Minimum entry level stats- play at 200 pounds, complete 68% , 3500 total yards, 30 total td’s, 8 total turnovers. (Regular season, add at same rate for playoffs). Do this, and the rest takes care of itself.

@RyanDyrudLAFB @FightOnRusty I know they were behind but that doesn’t change the fact that he went after long shot targets in GA that were unlikely to stick. It didn’t make sense when he repeatedly recruited Texas Tech and Baylor level 3 star TX players over local SoCal kids. The recruiting strategy was bad

@Alec_Gators @FightOnRusty I'm not excusing LR, but USC was waayyyyyyyyyy behind in NIL when LR arrived. NIL became legal in 2021, the same year LR was hired. They did not get competitive in NIL until about 16 months ago

People continue to underestimate what USC and LA have to offer. USC is not outbidding everyone, they are simply on the same NIL playing field as the big players (they were not 2 years ago). Competitive offers = brand, location, tradition, & vision taking them over the top ✌️
College Football with Sam@CFBwSam

If they ever win at a high level, it's over. They have 1/10th the success of Notre Dame and Ohio State, recently, and consistently beat them out for players. What happens if they get a natty? This is what I mean about teams getting priced out. Who can do this?

@billyliucci @ccwarcat @AmandaMAtwell @Moving_Goalpost I don’t think Reed is bad by any means. He has been unfairly dragged at times. I think he has a bunch of untapped upside and he definitely can make plays. But as you said, he needs to make strides as a passer because that is what held back a great A&M team from making a run.

@Alec_Gators @ccwarcat @AmandaMAtwell @Moving_Goalpost I think calling him a one-read and run is an exaggeration but he needs to (and I believe will) make notable strides this fall as a passer. He's also not going to ever be the 'NFL prototype prospect' like Arch is. Just needs to be better in college this fall and this November

@ouhogan @HookEmBabe24 @TexasHookem22 Ehh the thumb is the least of Mateer’s worries. His processing is super slow/delayed at this time. He runs a lot because he doesn’t trust his eyes to read coverage. His pick problem wasn’t due to throwing risky passes trying to thread it or his thumb. It was a processing issue.

NEW: Steve Sarkisian tells @Clowfb Texas signed Arch Manning ‘for free’ out of high school. Manning is believed to be making $2M currently from the Longhorns. “Arch could have dragged us over the coals for six million, seven million, whatever he wanted. That’s an extra five million that I can go get a Cam Coleman, go get a Hollywood Smothers and go get a Rasheem Biles.” on3.com/news/arch-mann…

@billyliucci @ccwarcat @AmandaMAtwell @Moving_Goalpost They called more designed QB runs than Texas. Him taking off more works fine when you are playing inferior opponents. It is going to hurt his development for the NFL though because the all 22 is blatantly clear. He is a one read and run QB. Think way less talented Justin Fields

@ccwarcat @AmandaMAtwell @billyliucci @Moving_Goalpost While sacks can be a QB stat, Arch was facing crazy high pressure rates. Yet, he still outproduced Reed while under pressure Arch’s pocket presence/navigation, pressure evasion and ability to get to his 2nd/3rd read are lightyears ahead of Reed. Arch keeps his eyes downfield

@AmandaMAtwell @billyliucci @Moving_Goalpost Uhm, you can’t blame the sacks (or lack of) directly on the O-line. That metric is actually one that favors Marcel’s talent in a big way. He recognizes sack threats quickly and escapes much better than Arch… hence the advantage in rushing yards.

@doyourhomewerk I think every player here gets drafted if they all declare which sounds crazy, but I think like 3-4 of these guys return. Baker Mosley (good player but I think Bishop eats into his targets which sets up a WR trio of Mosley, Bishop and Lockett) Niblett
