Good day with @AndrewRLawson1 mostly on Thanet. Westbrook gave us 41 Pinks E, Whitethroat, Andy picked up a Dusky on call which we found on the cliff. We twitched the Pallid Swifts then chec ked local areas b4 twitching the Desert Wheatear at Seasalter thanks to @burtmeister80

Popped up to Dunwich Heath in Suffolk today for the cracking wee Red-tailed (Turkestan) Shrike. Great scope views and I managed enough of a compilation of record shots to capture the main features.

Decent day @DungenessBO. 2 hrs seawatching - 13 Arctic Skua, 2 Black Tern. On the land the clear vismig of Hirundines was spectacular. 1000s of Sand Martin and Swallow with 10s of House Martin. Very confiding Spot Fly* and D. ramburalis. @RSPBDungeness two Pintail on ARC.

@dbbirding That is just a Striped Hawkmoth. Silver-striped much rarer and quite different.

A strange mixed week. Sun, wind, rain and very dry conditions. The Man and Pyramidal Orchids found are small and fewer in number. Only migrant in our moth trap was the Diamond Back. Better at Dungeness BO when the Silver Striped Hawkmoth was on show. Plenty of Small Skippers. 1/2

Some people ignore micro moths because they are too small or too boring. These two would disagree! Ethmia quadrillella and Dasycera oliviella from Rainham, Kent over the last couple of nights.

Bonelli's Warbler at Dungeness from 0940. Sounds like it could be an EASTERN!

@gibbard_crisis I had a Reed Warbler singing in my town centre garden on Sunday afternoon as well, which was a first.

magic apple tree strikes again reed warbler in garden then moved to only bit scrub left. it shows breifly end of video singing aswell.
