Been very lucky with my @NuffieldFarming farm visits recently and getting to visit @scot_stu and @Ettrickgiles was no exception. Great line drawn on maintaining growth, generating profit and generating a saleable premium product. Great chat on outwintering (or not) weaned calves

Someone once told me that they lambed ewe hoggs just often enough to remind them why they didn’t do it every year 😂. Hopefully this year will be different 😬. Romney composite hoggs lambing to Shetland rams.

@BarnsideFarm @andrew_tullie @brucemcconachie Agree with Charley...sometimes you don't want to be hassled...I found that dressing like a farmer but wearing a sheep's heed #scotchlamb around the show meant no one spoke to me...no schoffel though... it is summer after all 😂

I struggle with the Schöffel.
Very practical, comfortable piece of clothing, but every bloody unoriginal agri-drone wears them.
I can't think of a culture that is so desperate to identify themselves by their profession but lacking in originality!

@brucemcconachie I went round numerous machinery stands at the RHS as 6yr old loves big kit as most wee farm boys do. I was dressed in shorts t-shirt and trainers. Not a single rep bothered to talk to us. Turns out if you don't dress like stereotype farmer they don't acknowledge you.
