Gas spent 20 years owning the evening peak. Batteries took a year to crash the party. That's disruption. Not gradual, but a rapid shift in who supplies grid's most valuable hours. The battle was never about total generation. It was about the peak & batteries are winning it.

@StewartNial @EVCurveFuturist I always want to learn more. If you're saying that nuclear is cheaper than renewables I need evidence before I start promoting it. If you're saying that coal is cheaper than renewables, I'd want costing for air pollution and sickness. Tell me more

@EVCurveFuturist @WormsofWrath That and battery chemistry is changing to further mitigate. All that, plus you weren't talking about EVs, but static batteries, which are commonly Sodium-Ion so no Lithium

@WormsofWrath If lithium battery fires were as common as you suggest, we'd be seeing thousands of them every day. Instead, EVs have accumulated billions of kilometres with fire rates generally lower than ICE vehicles.
