@DaveShapi If you look at the rate of increase from o1 to o3 and the impact of infrencev time compute, it is really scary. I think that Agentic will take more time to be big than most think this year though, as much companies don’t have their processes clear, data sorted and tech aligned.

You guys I'm seriously freaking out about the implications of what we're seeing. The implications are staggering, to say the least. Okay, we know what Ilya saw, and it wasn't just Q* and Strawberry. That was the first step. What he really saw was the oscillation between these three steps: 1. Scaling laws of training and compute. We can reliably predict how much data/compute are required to get to the next level of AI models. 2. Inference time compute scaling laws. Letting the models think longer (spending more tokens on thinking and such) yields orders of magnitude improvements. 3. Distillation, which is where you use one "teacher model" to train the next generation "student model" which is sort of like going from a pidgin language to a true creole language. (magically better) Combine that with increasing evidence that AI is generalizing beyond its training distribution and it's GAME OVER. This is it. But that's not even the best part. It seems like every AI shop figured this all out at the same time. There is no moat. ASI will be for everyone.

@pt @MatthewBerman That of course, she was a human computer interface, and I guess I’ll be replaced by machine machine interface. Either way they built it built to the interruptibility of computers to computers or computers to humans is gonna be the challenge..

That’s a super interesting question. I’m not sure. My best guess is that they will get good enough to write “perfect code” in a few years, but might not get to building “perfect systems” until we have AGI. it can be dangerous to reason by analogy, but I’m reminded of full-stack products for applications like e-commerce. They work OK for basic stuff, but their “perfect code” breaks down at some point and you need human coders. But I do believe LLMs can unlock meaningful new dynamics in the realm on no-code applications and are obviously mech suits for people who can code at all.

What happens when LLMs no longer need to write code legible to humans? Hyper-efficient code will look nothing like our current coding languages. Maybe they will just be symbols.

@pt @MatthewBerman I also think you very much depends on the case, give me the perfect code. It has to be combined with great experience and great data to actually get to some kind of business outcome. Normally that needs to be modified along with the experience over time.
