The absolute worst thing that can happen to this team is trying to fast track the rebuild this summer. The only focus should be trading 13, selling assets and retooling around Hutson and Demidov. A Habs team with Cole Caufield will NEVER make it this far again, guaranteed.

WEATHER BOT: 3 days building a weather trading bot on Polymarket from scratch Goal: test if forecast inefficiencies in weather markets can be traded profitably What I built: 1. Bot scans 20 cities across 4 continents every hour 2. Pulls forecasts from 3 sources: ECMWF, HRRR (US), METAR real-time observations 3. Calculates Expected Value and Kelly Criterion for position sizing 4. Monitors open positions every 10 minutes with stop-loss and trailing stop 5. Auto-resolves trades directly via Polymarket API Best trade of the run: • Market: Highest temperature in Ankara on March 20? • Entered D+2 (2 days before resolution) • ECMWF forecast: 6.8°C → matched bucket 7°C • Entry price: $0.040 • Exit price: $1.000 (resolved) • Position size: $20 • Return: +$486 (+2430%) Full stats (43 trades): • PnL: $1,135 (+13.5%) • Win Rate: 19% • Lose: 35 • Win: 8 Due to a stop-loss bug, the bot was using cached prices instead of real-time data - losing up to $20 per trade instead of the maximum $4. This cost over $200 in avoidable losses. Bug is now fixed. Bugs found and fixed: • Bot was reading NO price instead of YES ask → entering at wrong price. Fixed: now fetches real bestAsk from Polymarket API before every entry • Stop-loss used cached prices from last scan → could lose full $20 instead of max $4. Fixed: now fetches real bestBid every 10 minutes • Bot searched multiple buckets if first didn't pass filters → could enter wrong bucket. Fixed: one forecast - one bucket, no fallback What's next: • Deploy 24/7 on VPS server • Collect calibration data to improve forecast accuracy per city • Add CLOB order book for realistic exit pricing 3 days in, bugs fixed, bot is live.
