Some albums are exceptional at telling a compelling story and taking the listener on a majestic musical journey. Tommy by the Who is one of them. What’s another album-by any artist-that needs to be listened from start to finish?

If I'd said that the girl rode up on a giant tortoise with jets attached to its shell and offered to wash my car, I'd agree that the story seemed unfathomable to even comprehend that something like this could happen on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

A girl has just knocked on our door and asked to wash the car for a tenner. She's been out asking people for 3 hours and I'm the first one to say yes. She is saving up to buy a tortoise 🐢

To many of us, #Blackadder is part of every day parlance. Which phrases from the show do you use yourself and when you do you use them? Example: When someone offers me a cup of tea, I say: "Yes, immediately!" You get the idea. Will RT the best ones.

@WG_RumblePants Brilliant footage WG. Nice music, too. I’m always fascinated by the batting & bowling techniques, compared with modern days.

There’s a lot of really fascinating silent footage of Silver Age cricket (1918-1939) available online, which I suspect hardly anyone ever watches. So I’ve edited together some of the Jack Hobbs footage and set it to music of the era. I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out.

@sharrond62 In retaliation, when American Foolsball is played over here, they should play for 90 mins (not 60) with only a 15-minute break halfway through, limited ‘subs’ (none of that offence/defence rubbish, just play!) & no timeouts. That’ll buckin’ show em! I’ll do basketball next!

@ChiefGolfCat @TheStingisBack Very much a Deep Impact/Armageddon scenario. The more serious and scientific movie is the better film, but it's also less fun than the ridiculous over the top disaster flick. Volcano got way more watches in my house growing up, exactly because of how silly it is.

@ChiefGolfCat There's a moment in Volcano (I think it's post 11 in the thread) when TLJ points at Anne Heche and says "You okay?" and it's like she's being court marshalled. There's no warmth in it, yet he absolutely makes it work because, you know... he's Tommy Lee Jones.
