The NJSIAA announced that thirteen basketball programs were found to have non-traditional enrollment at their school and met the success criteria to be moved up a full group classification for the 26-27 basketball season including Manasquan boys and girls and Colts Neck boys.

An insurance backstop is not new or unheard of as I talked about today on Making Money with @cvpayne. The US has done versions of this repeatedly. In 1914, Congress created the Bureau of War Risk Insurance specifically to keep American merchant ships moving during WWI. During Korea in 1950, Congress expanded the authority to cover foreign flag vessels when commercial insurance was unavailable at reasonable rates. In 1987, Reagan reflagged 11 Kuwaiti tankers under the US flag for Operation Earnest Will, which sidestepped the insurance problem entirely by bringing them under US Navy escort. Bush activated this exact Chapter 539 authority for Black Sea trade during the 2008 Georgia crisis.

And it’s not about defending my guy, it’s about defending a coach for a rule that is completely dumb and outdated. And the reason why he got suspended, was there were other situations, not reported by the press that were WAY worse. So the state had to give him a game, because someone went crying to the state.

He wasn’t drawing up a play, wasn’t calling a time out, literally said one thing. You were not there but I was. The target should be the #NJSIAA. We are way behind most states when it comes to the recruiting and coaching of our athletes during the off-season. And I have tried to reach out to the state but they don’t care about the kids

So for context t, I was there the day that the allegation took place. And I will say 85% of coaches in the area have been broken this rule. And I’ve have witnessed it. And I broke it when I was a coach. Literally saying one thing from the stands is a suspension offense?

The fact that you guys posted this story, literally days before season starts is borderline laughable as well. You should focus on the #NjSIAA archaic rules rather than the suspension. Our neighboring states allows coaches access. The problem isn’t Mike or others, ITS THE STATE!

Diesel (ULSD) futures are now trading for about 55.75cts/gal over RBOB but this spread has been wider than 94cts/gal in 2023 and peaked at a whopping $1.71/gal in 2022. Historically, it is quite dangerous to bet on diesel separating itself from RBOB in December so beware.
