@Colorado_Rick

Just a retired guy in the Colorado mountains that can’t believe what is happening these days. So tired of all the stupid in the world.

@Demo4fhs It matters what other things you are spending on instead of groceries.

Y’all can argue with me if you want, but if a person works every day and still can’t afford groceries, they deserve food assistance just as much as anybody else.

@ShannonG747 @thehealthb0t The real issue isn’t normal day to day healthcare it’s the catastrophic events that are the true danger insurance is really designed to cover. Pre ACA you could get a low cost high deductible medical plan that had a $9000 out of pocket max but the payment was affordable.

I’ve been debating with my husband for over a year about canceling our family’s insurance. It’s just not affordable anymore, and we barely use it anyway. Between the sky high deductible and all the other out of pocket costs, it still feels unusable unless it’s a true emergency. On top of that, after everything with COVID, I’ve lost all trust in the medical system here; prescriptions, vaccines, doctors, the whole setup. I stay home with the kids so I see more of what’s really going on behind the scenes. The big struggle is the traditional fear of “We must have it as responsible parents in case of a serious issue that could bankrupt us.” But the flip side is that this whole system often feels like a rigged middleman scam. You pay massive premiums every month (that the insurance companies win on whether you use it or not), and when you do need care, the negotiated rates, denials, and remaining bills can still crush you. Many people end up paying less overall by going cash pay/self pay; hospitals frequently offer big discounts to uninsured patients, and you avoid feeding the premium machine year after year. We’re in limbo, but the numbers just don’t add up for us anymore. No one can sustain this.

Family health insurance quote for 2026 (Bronze Saver Plus): • $2,094 per month • $27,229 per year • $13,000 deductible • $20,300 max out-of-pocket No one can afford this. The Affordable Care Act has destroyed American healthcare. “This cannot be real. How are families supposed to get medical care?! This is insane.”

@RepJeffries Liar, the laughably named affordable care act aka Obamacare is what cause insurance prices to skyrocket. It was created and passed 100% by Democrats only. Take credit for your creation rather than try to blame it on Republicans you absolute fool.

Republicans have caused health insurance premiums to skyrocket for millions of hardworking taxpayers. Why? They don’t give a damn about the personal finances of the American people.

If billionaires can't afford to pay their employees a living wage, they then are not a successful business owner; they're just exploiting labor.

@jeremyct When people always bid up the price off homes the price goes up. No one wants the 1200 Sq/ft home I grew up in so they don’t get built, building codes demand expensive construction elements as well. Can’t afford a $425k house buy at the bottom end not the middle or top.

In 1980 the median house cost $47,200. The median income was $21,020. A house cost 2.2 years of your salary. In 2025 the median house costs $425,000. The median income is $88,000. A house costs 4.8 years of your salary. Incomes went up 4x. Houses went up 9x. My dad bought his house at 26. I’m 34. Still doing the math. It still doesn’t work.

@ThrillaRilla369 Fix the welfare system that stops people from improving their lives and make it incentivize the upward movement of the people at the bottom. All handouts for poor and homeless people do nothing to solve the issue. Fix it finally.

@RepJayapal Celebrate your success you and the rest of the Democrats havre made health insurance too expensive for Americans to afford. This was the plan right? Now you can push to take it all into single payer like you intended all while lying that it wasn’t your fault.

We spend over $15,000 per capita on healthcare, twice that of other countries. Yet 85 million people are uninsured or underinsured & 500,000 go bankrupt due to medical debt. We must not make insurance & drug companies richer. We must provide healthcare to ALL as a human right.
