I do not even understand why you are saying this to me because I have put it on record for years that I do not support illegal immigration because it is a crime. It is criminality, and I do not support that. At the same time, I also do not support Afrophobia, the stigmatisation and targeting of Africans simply because they are African and black. There are organisations and groups that are not just anti-immigration, but openly anti-African. Whether someone has a valid permit or visa to live in South Africa or not, they do not care. Those are the people I say are also engaging in criminal behaviour because you have no right to persecute someone on the basis of the colour of their skin, which looks exactly like yours by the way, and because they are African like you. If people do not have papers, the law must deal with that and they must be deported. I have never defended undocumented immigrants who commit crimes in South Africa. Nobody in their right mind should defend that. So let us make a clear distinction between illegal immigration, which I do not support, and Afrophobia, which I also do not support. Afrophobia targets black African people who are legally in South Africa, who have permits and documentation, but are still stigmatised simply because they are African.

Jacinta denies inciting violence. Let me assist her with how she is doing it: She incites violence by using indirect rhetoric that mobilises anger amongst her illiterate, tribalist and xenophobic followers by blaming foreign nationals for all sorts of societal problems. She thinks that by manufacturing plausible deniability while still indirectly mobilising violent action will excuse her from the legal repercussions of her stupidity. Her lawyer husband who was masquerading on TV as March and March legal advisor is misleading her. She is going to end up in prison. She has already led a march that descended into public violence in East London.

“We can’t stop anyone who wants to leave the country, but we still have an obligation to those who want to remain,” South African International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola said while reacting to Ghana’s decision to repatriate citizens seeking to leave South Africa. --- This video is credited to @sabcnewsonline

The same people who erect boom gates around their neighborhoods, don't want taxi routes near their areas and complain about any public or informal housing near their communities will wax lyrical about how xenophobic the working class is being.

It continues to bother me how government often waits until people resort to extremes, shutdowns or even violence before it responds or addresses issues . Communities write letters, submit memorandums, attend consultations, raise concerns through lawful channels and are met with silence, bureaucracy or indifference. Citizens are effectively blueticked by the state they fund through their taxes. Then suddenly, once roads are burning, tyres are lit and cameras arrive, there is urgency, task teams and political visibility. It creates a dangerous lesson in society that says calm, reasoned engagement achieves very little, while chaos gets attention. The only explanation for this behaviour is a growing culture of leadership that has become detached from the daily realities of ordinary people. A government that genuinely cares about its citizenry would not need to be cornered into listening. Responsiveness should not be activated by fear of embarrassment or instability. It should be the basic duty of public service.
