So bored of this cycle. Stop it. Support gets hate mainly because of gameplay frustration and role design. The role is built around sustainability, strong cooldowns, survivability, and things like invisibility make them some of the hardest characters to punish. When you’ve had cloak/Loki/invis/Gambit sitting in pick/ban for so long and feeling borderline unkillable at times, that frustration is pretty obvious and has nothing to do with misogyny. Sexism exists in the community and does affect some interactions, especially toward women playing support. But those are overlapping issues, not the same thing. If you want people to take the misogyny point seriously, attacking people personally isn’t the way to do it. It just derails the discussion and makes the argument easier to dismiss.

People drawing comparisons like this to sexism/politics are genuinely insane. The characters are just annoying to deal with and have access to very easy tools to deal with problems in their games (dive) but they refuse to get good at using them. The devs then have to compensate for their lack of skill through buffs, further reducing their skill floor leading to favored matchups against characters that are supposed to counter them lol. This is why people have an "inherent hatred" towards the support role, it's quite literally because they whine and get what they want, it has nothing to do with fucking sexism, that is an INSANE line of thinking.

Years ago I found a Starbucks gift card in a car I was detailing (not a customer car) so I kept it and used it many times over a period of years, always surprised it still had money on it and never checking the balance just for the thrill and then one day the cashier asked me if I wanted to reload it and I realized I’d been using a card attached to someone’s app the whole time and they just kept putting money on it and I kept stealing it so I did the right thing and used it a few more times then threw it away
