Further to @Aportzline here, hearing that Rick Bowness has agreed to an extension to stay on as HC of the Blue Jackets. Should be made official at 2 pm ET news conference.

#CBJ will hold a season-ending press availability today for GM Don Waddell and coach Rick Bowness. Won’t be a surprise if a Bowness contract extension is announced before the gathering. Bowness has made it clear he wants to stay, and he wants to change the culture in Columbus.

I feel like people are missing the mark here.
Bones clarified they cared — of course they do. But they didn’t care ENOUGH to overcome adversity when it got hard. Or when it “didn’t matter.”
Nobody likes to lose. But his point was that they don’t hate losing ENOUGH. #CBJ

So far, theme among #CBJ players - Zach Werenski, Ivan Provorov, and Sean Monahan, with more to come - is that they disagree with coach Rick Bowness’ impassioned “they don’t care” observation. In fairness. Bowness did soften that stance later in his comments. 1/2

Is this actually the most disappointing season in #CBJ history? 2nd in the Metro with 11 games remaining… Win 4-5 out of 11, you make the Playoffs. They won 2. All we needed was mediocrity for 11 games and we couldn’t even get that.
