@BlueJacketStats Anyone trolling the signing doesn’t understand the salary cap , nor do they understand what a culture setter in the club house is worth . Since he’s under 35 , if he retires any time prior to the 6th year , his contract falls off the books

Don’t let the internet trolls tell you otherwise: this was a good extension for the Blue Jackets. The #CBJ needed to retain Charlie Coyle for a myriad of reasons. Four years would’ve been better, sure. But six years is better than zero.

When asked if Waddell was talking with other UFA’s, he said: “No, we will start talking with everybody on (that front) here in the next little bit.” Added that he’s scheduled some meetings with some of the RFA’s agents during the combine. Quite clear that Coyle was Item A. #CBJ
