“If you rely on willpower to do the right thing, you will lose.” - @bryan_johnson aka Moon Brah David Goggins types, while admirable, advise to increase willpower. How many people can take such advice and spontaneously become stronger? Few. Bryan Johnson’s advice is much more effective in my view. If there is a system to achieve health that works, why exclude those who struggle with willpower? Willpower is easier to gain once healthy. You cannot bestow a stranger with willpower, but you can give them a system. For a diet to work, it’s important that it’s tasty.

Just remembering the rats in forced swimming experiments. At baseline, they would give up in minutes and drown, thinking there is no way out. If they saw another rat escape, they’d swim for many hours. Sometimes all you need is to talk to another rat who has escaped.
