Democrats fought hard to separate church and state, until the politician was Muslim and the “church” became a mosque.
Now Mamdani openly references his Islamic faith in leadership, citing the Prophet Muhammad and Hijra to frame policy, hosting Ramadan events at City Hall, and invoking religion when discussing migration, and many progressives applaud instead of objecting.
Under their new standard, separation seems to apply only when the institution is a church and the leader is Christian. When it involves a Muslim and a mosque, it is framed as diversity and inclusion.
The rules for thee, not for me.

You have to be an absolute monster to be sent to Rikers Island these days; almost every offender is released on recognizance pending trial since New York’s 2018 bail reform.
Offenders on Rikers all have long histories of doing things so horrible that even the woke, pro-crime judges and prosecutors in NYC don’t want to be responsible for what they’ll do if they let them go.
Mamdani went out to serve these murderers and rapists a catered dinner with rapist City Council member Yusuf Salaam. He loves these people and he hates Jews.

Earlier this week, I broke fast at Rikers Island with New Yorkers in custody, Department of Correction staff, Commissioner Stanley Richards, and Councilmember Yusef Salaam. It was a night that will stay with me for quite some time. People sharing what little they have: breaking bread, offering prayer, making space for one another’s dignity even in the hardest place. In a system too often defined by what it takes, I was reminded of what it means to give—mercy, dignity, and humanity. May we extend that mercy as far as we can. Eid Mubarak to all.

Perhaps you might consider extending mercy, dignity, and humanity to the victims of the offenders you’ve chosen to elevate.

I’m honestly glad to see she’s not dignifying this and making some groveling public statement. We can judge adults by what they say and do in adulthood without digging through things they said as a teenager. This kind of digital cancel culture has to be put behind us.

Time and time again, we've seen outsider candidates defy millions of dollars in outside spending to win tough races.
If Democrats stop running buttoned up lawyers and instead recruit candidates who actually represent the place they're running, we can compete everywhere.
