Will be a big miss this. I'm obviously bias but this season with Doug playing; 7 clean sheets in 13 games - conceding only 11 goals at 0.8 goals per game. Without him we've managed only 3 clean sheets in 18 - conceding 31 at 1.7 goals a game.. more than double #gtfc

@DanielLewis__ @1Ashlxy Even so, if we look at the actual numbers Doug at the minute looks like the best performing centre half. There's some context within that of course, but we concede less with Doug, same was true last year.

@MikeyMcMahon @1Ashlxy Hmmmm i let you have that he was over stretching like you say but still he did lose him at first and had to recoupe the mistake with more pace he gets the ball first i get it but i just feel doug lacks in mobility and i get it he's a big cb just not my cuppa tea 🤣

@DanielLewis__ @1Ashlxy Personally think the injury has very little to do with pace, seemed to fall awkwardly/over stretch when they went to ground. He's no slower than Lavelle from what i've seen.

@MikeyMcMahon @1Ashlxy My only gripe on doug is his pace and this is why the injury happend he was struggling with the pace of there striker hence the injury he got into mess and struggled to get back at him and his hammy gave way lavelle is more mobile while doug gives us the height

@DanielLewis__ @1Ashlxy Lavelle too me looks like he should be decent at this level, last year aside with Carlisle. But the numbers consistently show us we’re so much better with Doug in the team - if Lavelle can be just as influential then I’m all for that.
