RBL TRBL Ashton Under Lyne Branch Branch are struggling to get collectors for all our Poppy Stands,in the Ashton Arcades and Ashton Market Hall. We are asking people if they can do a morning, 10-2 or afternoon shift 1-5. Poppy Appeal runs 28th October till to 11th of November.

Today marks VJ78, were the military and civilian POWs were liberated. The bravest woman I knew - my mum and grandfather were among those liberated aged 12 when freed I don’t think she ever recovered from those years of torture and abuse at the hands of the Japanese
