@wc_ratcliff I think use of AI should be disclosed, even if the paper is vetted for accuracy. It would affect how I read the paper, expecting summary/rehashing rather than novel insights

I volunteered to run an ethics seminar focusing on the use of AI in scientific research. I have my own opinions, but I'd love a broader sample. Consider the following question: Assume that the output is vetted and 100% accurate. The use of LLMs in scientific writing is:

For all those who are worrying that ChatGPT will result in students using it to cheat on homework and exam, I wanted to point out that this slices both ways. 😉

I just tried #gptchat from @OpenAI and it is predictably cool. I probably already jaded and it is becoming harder to impress me, I guess. And yet, at some level it is still mind-blowing. A short thread... 1/n I am a polite person, so first I said 'Hello'

Good lord @andyweirauthor's latest book, Project Hail Mary, is good. Literally giddy with excitement at the opportunity to dive back in last night. Fought off sleep for as long as I could, lost the battle, and woke up at 3am with the lights on and phone on my face.
