@TigsTown I think that’s a good point. I think the goal is cutting down on travel time and making it easier. Which encourages mobility/spending around the state and makes for more attractive lifestyle if you can easily get around. But the focus should be regional/local detroit transit imo

@violetikon The 2nd amendment does not allow you to threaten the public with guns. Running away from police while holding a gun is a threat, especially in downtown and during a massive event. Not going to endanger anyone? Then don’t run away and don’t bring a gun to an event.

@DE_Gifford The program simply recaptures 50% of the NEW taxes the project generates. Its not cash from residents. I do think GM is at fault for moving employees to Warren and should step up more.

@wischlist @ciullo100 Their lease ends in at Soldier Field in 6 years and they’d love to leave earlier. Poor stadium experience for team and players. Takes years to design and build a world-class stadium.

If the Bears actually had patience and foresight, they’d wait until the White Sox moved to The 78 and then build an enclosed-roof facility at 35th & Shields. If Chicago’s leaders actually had vision, they’d work to have the Bears and White Sox swap locations for their stadiums.

@DE_Gifford It is in horrid condition and not adjacent to their corridor along woodward/rocket offices. $3M is more than its worth. They are focusing on execution rather than expansion now, so no surprise. However, I really wish they did because it seems unlikely this buyer can redevelop it

@A320ne0 @jarjoh @2024dion Fair point, yeah I don’t know a ton. I don’t put a ton of stock in rail transit (bad everywhere). Seems to have good density/connectivity around the riverfront, arena, and ballpark which makes for good urbanism. But, totally agree on the lack of historic fabric
