INSIDE “SIREN”: BRITISH SURVEILLANCE WITHIN LEBANON How is a UK-based intelligence firm spying on Lebanese society? Meet British consultancy “Siren Associates,” based in Beirut since 2008, which has deepened its involvement in Lebanon's security and governance institutions, particularly the Internal Security Forces (ISF) under the Interior Ministry. Funded by UK government contracts to strengthen policing and surveillance, Siren builds digital surveillance platforms and provides technical assistance to intelligence parties amid Lebanon's economic crisis and displacement waves due to American-Israeli aggression. Recently, Siren launched "Monitor Lebanon", a real-time situational awareness platform aggregating open-source data to track security events, aiding navigation of the country's volatile environment. Led by CEO Jonathan McIvor (with prior Northern Ireland policing experience), Siren's role - including data-sharing agreements with ministries - fuels worries of enabling foreign intelligence influence and misuse against displaced populations from Israeli aggression. @VoxUmmah @venanalysis @qiaocollective @ProgIntl @KawsachunNews @OrinocoTribune @blkagendareport @SoberaniaPod
