Lots of self-flagellating stupidity like "if the Iranian regime survives, it wins." No it doesn't you idiots. It began the war with a senior leadership class, air defenses, a navy, an Air Force, and a defense industrial base. It no longer has those things. That's losing

"Blinking now turns Trump into Eden and Iran into Nasser on steroids. Escalation without a coherent theory of victory risks another quagmire. The challenge is that Tehran will contemplate backing down only if America projects unwavering resolve." Brilliant analysis by @mshmena.

Substantially static front lines, maintained for over 1,000 days despite the use of millions of drones, are the most compelling evidence that they have not revolutionised offensive warfare. ➡️ Mark Sauser on drones and the Russo-Ukrainian war: go.iiss.org/402G4kt

Europeans don't understand the US wants them to be strong and self sufficient and a real ally. Euros take this as an insult, for whatever reason. You do not want the US as an enemy, trust me on this.

European politicians are aware that the presence of US troops is what prevents your govts and armed uprisings from happening as a result of islamic immigration policies right? US troops go, what's between you the politicians and the angry populace, without the US to blame? Cops?

I once visited a man at Pentonville prison. He had been jailed for sharing an adult picture of Jon Venables, one of the males who killed James Bulger. His defence was he believed Venables to be a continuing danger to the community and he wanted to warn people. After his initial release in 2001, Jon Venables was given a new identity and lifelong anonymity but was repeatedly recalled to prison for subsequent offences, primarily involving child abuse material. The man who shared his identity was imprisoned for 'Contempt of Court'. C of C is a VERY SERIOUS issue in the UK. Very. And the judges respond accordingly. Obviously, I am not encouraging ANYONE into vigilante behaviour or to disobey court orders, but I do wonder why the judiciary gets more angry & more punishing with people breaking court rules than with adults watching children be raped and tortured?

I watched the Huw Edwards docu-drama. I heard he wasn't happy. He got off lightly. This story was primarily centred on him grooming a 17-year-old (and it was grotesque and vile) but this is a man, let us not forget, who is sexually aroused by the rape and torture of small children. That's who Mr. BBC News is. I heard his publicist wants us to have a big conversation about why men like Huw do what they do. No. We are sick of always trying to understand perverts and paedophiles. Humans have been given freewill. If you have bought into the child abuse market you made your choice and I have no sympathy for you. This isn't something we need to understand, it's something that we need to penalise appropriately. Allowing people like Edwards to escape a prison sentence will not protect one child but it always protects the predator. The arrogance that he thinks he should enjoy a return to public life is astonishing. These predators have been getting away with too much for too long that when they get caught they become the victim. If it was up to me I would release people like Edwards into the wild and let nature take its course.

A serious government in Britain would be coming out with plans to rapidly expand energy, chemicals, food, and fertilizer production right now. Coal, natural gas, and nuclear projects would be getting rubber stamped. North Sea projects would be hiring engineers and workers from shut down fields in the Persian Gulf. Drill, baby drill would be the only game in town. Abattoirs would be getting opened up and down the country. Taxes on farmers would be slashed. Supermarkets would be told to prioritise British production or else. Bureaucracy and red tape would be getting cut. Welfare would be getting obliterated to avert a debt crisis.
