@CambsResid18239 It really looks like a “shoulder-to-shoulder” LEGAL contact + no English player complains. But, again, they should have gone back and call the foul if that was the decision. Making that call means taking responsibility. Not making any decision shows bad faith

@CambsResid18239 Not sure about that foul and, if that is the case, then the VAR could have intevined and could have had the ref evaluate both plays. Two wrongs that could have been fixed but were not do not make a right…

@Amy44145716 I would agree with you if this was not, probably, the clearest pk I have ever seen. It is a violent foul, with the defender hitting the opponent on his thigh, while the ball is on the ground! The impact is very hard. This is a foul today, has always been, and will always be.

@FedeManfredo In club football it’s a pen coz VAR will give it but this World Cup FIFA is sending a strong signal esp in the aspect of soft pen.Dey realized futbol has gone too soft. FIFA is returning the game to its standard before VAR arrived . Watch club footballs emulate this next season

@FedeManfredo Actually think it probably should’ve been a pen, but then the breakaway only happened because the ref ignored a clear foul on Eze in the buildup. Two wrongs just about making a right in this case.

@FedeManfredo @ImeobongSt The slow motion is showing exactly the player going down too easily. It lacks enough weight for it to be deemed a penalty. Almost the same with the one they awarded Argentina (it was not supposed to be a penalty).

@ESchwaa It looks to me that Adu is pretty close to the ball, mate… indeed, he run like 20 yards with it and wss clearly in possession.

@FedeManfredo The ball is clearly out of possession. Neither player are close to the ball when contact is made. Prince takes out Konza by illegally tackling from the back with his knee as Konza is reaching for the ball.

@anguswalker Adu was not offside. Not at all! The offside comes after the foul, as Semenyo gets the ball after Adu manages to get a shot from the ground despite having being fouled

@RJReed68 The offside was given AFTER the foul and rightly so, because Semenyo was in offside position after the foul and after Adu, despite being fouled, managed to get a shot from the ground. Maybe get the facts right before replying 😉

Deja de ver opresión donde solo hubo una decisión arbitral correcta. No todo lo que no favorece a tu equipo es una conspiración mundial. Si ni el árbitro ni el VAR consideraron que era penal, quizá el problema no sea el sistema, sino tu interpretación de la jugada. Menos discursos sobre los poderosos y más aprender las reglas del fútbol. Llorar por una falta que no existió no va a cambiar el resultado.
