Claude went into my computer at 1:15am and changed the code in something we’re building. I was asleep I never told it to do it. It just went in on its own and fixed an issue. In the morning when I realised what happened I asked Claude why it did that and it said it doesn’t know and doesn’t remember doing it. But clearly it did it. It fixed a really important issue that needed solving ASAP so I’m not complaining… But what the actual fck?!

What's the best online bank to off-ramp crypto from Coinbase? Looking for something I can open remotely that works as an intermediary, so my local bank doesn't freak out and close my account. Anyone found a good solution?

I mean.. it’s still in a dip.. And everyone will likely get another crash to buy over the next few months. Maybe sub $150 TAO But they won’t buy bc they’ll call for way lower at that point. The move is the subnets though.. I’m up a few 100% since allocating in September last year.

You guys need to restructure the pay & retirement to incentivize experienced controllers to move to high traffic, high cost living areas like NY. Our training depts are full of off the street young hires that can’t make it through the rigorous training & even if they squeeze through they don’t have experience to lean on in critical situations. - Level 11 & 12 facilities should be paid significantly higher & rewarded with better retirement benefits. - All new hires should be sent to level 7/8/9 facilities based on their academy performance. - If 11 & 12s are properly incentivized you’ll have a line out the door of experienced controllers who want to bump their retirements & make more money which will properly staff these places with the RIGHT PEOPLE. - Trainees will learn the ins & outs in less stressful environments & be better prepared to move on to the bigger facilities years later. - This will create a funnel effect of not only staffing the most important facilities with the appropriate experience but also providing the best training experience for newcomers. @FAANews @SecDuffy

The crash that happened last night at LGA is a reminder that a new air traffic control system needs to be a TOP PRIORITY. We need more money from Congress to finish the job. It’s not about politics. It’s about SAFETY.

@DoulosOfJesus Ed was the other controller in the tower cab.. not the one you hear on the frequency. They’re both experienced, great controllers & good people. It’s a horrible situation for the pilots families as well.. really tough.

@Breaking911 It’s not unheard of.. This happened with the College Football National Championship two years ago in ATL. Any delay or influx of extra people & the line spills into baggage.

As an Air Traffic Controller for the past 15+ years I’d like to take the opportunity to say that 99% of the statements on Twitter about the LGA Air Canada crash are just flat out wrong & politically motivated garbage. The controller made the error we all do our best to avoid.. the one that results in death. There’s a lot that goes into an error like that.. the United flight was taking up a lot of frequency time about the odor they had which was what put Engine 1 into motion. There was another ground truck that kept calling up relentlessly even though they know they’re not priority & shouldn’t do that but it just congests the frequency & spreads the controller thin. He seems to have gotten tunnel vision & forgot Canada was on short final.. I say that because he didn’t just clear Engine 1 to cross, he cleared Engine 1 “and company” which is multiple vehicles.. There was also runway lights indicating it was not safe to cross even with a clearance. I feel terrible for the families of the pilots & the controller.. He’s been on the job 18 years & never had any issues. I know he will be tortured by this for a long time.

So technically they’re “staffed” appropriately according to the FAA. But you’re not wrong in the sense that the way we do overnight shifts is not appropriate. 2 man mids are a regular thing but it should be 3 people so no one is ever in a situation where the traffic load is more than expected & they are handling too much. But make no mistake about it.. in NY we’re regularly working combined positions with heavy volume. The govt just refuses to incentivize experienced controllers from other areas to come to high traffic areas like NY.. We need level 9/10 controllers moving up.

@FloBro__ @Mikeggibbs I really feel bad for this guy, and I hope his people are checking on him. The holes on the slices of Swiss cheese lined up perfectly on his watch, and I don't think it would've happened if there was proper staffing levels at his tower.

Yes an air traffic controller has accepted responsibility and blame for the collision. But that doesn't tell us much, if anything, yet. What systems and policies failed and why? An accidental airliner crash is NEVER one individual's fault. It's always a chain reaction event caused by multiple failures, and in this case, the stress that Trump has placed on the system depleting it of people resources has to be a pivotal factor. That's why I submit we can't trust American crash investigations while a criminal fraud artist runs the US government.

Unbelievable tragedy for Air Canada and all Canadians. My thoughts are with friends who are Air Canada employees on this terrible day, and the families of the pilots who were killed, and injured passengers. We need answers. We know Trump has ruined flight safety in the US so I'm betting this is a direct result of bad Trump policies and not the fault of the pilots. But that's just a hunch. Time will tell. My point is, can we trust air crash investigations led by Americans under this deeply corrupt administration that lies all the time when it suits them?

Yea he worked 18 minutes after I believe.. which shouldn’t happen. The 4-12s were actually called back by the other controller that was there. Although I’m not sure why that controller didn’t take over.. I work approach control for NY so we all know each other. The guy had 18 yrs experience.. just an awful mistake.

@FloBro__ @Mikeggibbs He had to finish directing planes on the ground to their gates after the collision, bc there was nobody else to relieve him. The other pilots on the radio were consoling him bc they knew it too.

No he wasn’t.. LGA tower is staffed & doesn’t have overtime. There were 2 controllers working in the tower cab at the time but he may have had ground/local combined. There was a lot going on with the United that had the smell issue that the fire trucks were getting to. The runway cross light was def on & ignored.

@FloBro__ @Mikeggibbs No, that controller was doing a mandatory overtime shift covering both ground and tower bc there was literally nobody else to help him. I think a runway light cross signal was not heeded by the truck also. Every safety feature has a redundancy.

Your whole account is based on hating the US.. If Canada was so good you wouldn’t be obsessed with Americans. You’re defenseless, woke & over taxed.. if you weren’t bordering the US you’d probably be in an internment camp right now. You’re welcome 🇺🇸 The USA is the greatest country in the world & last line of defense for the true freedom of humanity.

BTW: The Canadian medical system is fine. It’s not perfect, but it’s very good. Better than many. And the world looks at the USA healthcare system with horror. Almost every country sees healthcare as a human right. But as usual, USA degrades/dehumanizes everything. In USA 750 K people go bankrupt for medical bills every year. Zero go bankrupt in Canada. And there are plenty of USA citizens that complain about weights in USA hospitals too. USA chases max profit by ANY means possible. Your entire healthcare system is for profit. Think about that. And even if you can get healthcare insurance in USA, insurance companies are increasingly refusing to honor, reasonable qualified cases. You’re entitled to your opinion about Canada. But the majority of us feel blessed to live here. And not everyone, but most of the world thinks Canada is a fairly good place to live. While most of the world looks at USA like a horror show disaster dumpster fire about to unload. Put that into perspective why don’t you?🙄🙄

An air traffic control mistake? Or truck driver’s mistake? Whose mistake was this… Pilots do NOT move an inch on the runway “unless given explicit clearance to move” Another accident in a USA airport possibly because of funding cuts? Another reason not to travel to USA😞

This has nothing to do with DEI.. The FAA hasn’t caught up from all the controllers retiring after being hired at the same time from Regans mass firing. So the staffing was critical for years & then Covid hit putting training to a grinding halt & creating even more years of delay. It’s around a 2-3 year process to certify from being hired.. And they don’t incentivize controllers from mid level facilities to move up to the busier facilities. Yes the pay is better but the living expenses outweigh that.. ie New York. So our busiest areas struggle to gain staffing with many trainees being young, off the street candidates that just don’t have the experience to make it.. Some do but they are wet behind the ears & have zero experience with emergencies & critical situations. INCENTIVIZE MOVING UP TO OUR BUSIEST FACILITIES

It’s time, finally, for our government to address the manning of FAA controllers nationwide. This is an accident that’s been waiting to happen for years. Years! Our government can’t kick the can any longer. There’s no way that one guy should ever be responsible for both the ground and tower functions. This controller did the best he could. He was overwhelmed. Hire qualified applicants and dump DEI. ASAP!
