This all started after a protester confronted me about protest footage that aired on Jimmy Kimmel. He claimed it came from Frontlines and that I was the one who filmed it. (He was correct) Afterward, I was repeatedly confronted and surrounded throughout the protest, yet I stayed nothing but respectful, even as some called for me to get “kirk’d”. Then came the targeted arrest that, unfortunately, led me straight into the unwell activist, Christopher Almaraz, whom you see in this video. In all my years of reporting, the far left has always been hostile to independent media or any outlet that doesn’t “align” with their interests. However, over the past year, targeted harassment and violence against reporters have seen a drastic uptick, and real accountability has been almost nonexistent. Members of the press should not have to worry about being harmed or worse by violent radicals simply for doing their jobs. I’ve worked for quite a few companies, yet I’ve never been explicitly targeted because of the company I work for… until @FrontlinesTPUSA.

The government of both administrations contributed to this. Spirit tried to exercise free market principles to save itself by merging with another airline. Biden’s DOJ blocked it. And when it came time for a bailout/lifeline, Trump was too proud to give one unless it completely fucked over the company in his benefit. Despite mainline “premium” carriers getting bailed out multiple times across the decades, Spirit was owed a bailout on principle if not precedent.

I’m going to miss Spirit Airlines. They weren’t fancy, but they were cheap and sometimes the only way to get someplace you needed to go. 🙏

@SDHokieJeff @AndrewYang Thats great but if the cost of the flights cant cover the costs of operations then obviously the flights are to cheap. It isnt the governments responsibility to prop up a failing company. Unfortunately their merger with jetblue was denied under the Biden administration.

@AndrewYang Plus it just helps having a low cost option to make other airlines have competitive fares. I’ve flew Spirit a couple of times and it’s a no frills airline and I didn’t like being nickeled and dimed for everything. But planes were clean and they had an excellent safety record.
