Lawyers: it's not AI that will get you fired by clients. It's @MikeJShowalter that will get you fired. Talking to him right now. He's a lawyer. He's a litigator, worked in major law firms his career before starting his own firm. Works in coffee shops. So he doesn't need to charge you overhead for an expensive building. Which is 1/3rd the fee in most law firms. They usually have the nicest offices in town. And he uses AI heavily, which he just told me greatly increases his productivy and reduces his costs, that he passes along to his clients. His fees are flat rate, instead of hourly, and are about 1/3 what the law firms are charging their clients. And he checks all the work carefully to make sure no bullshit (er, hallucinations) sneak into his work. And he has automated the grungy part of his work (answering emails and such). He told me he is working more hours than ever. "It's absolutely insane," he told me.

It's not just AI slop... it's a dead space. Literally the dead internet theory on a single platform. I crushed LinkedIn in beginning of 2025. Posts drove $3000-$5000 in FounderStack sales per DAY. Then around mid-2025 something happened, and I barely noticed to begin with. Cause my posts still got plenty of engagement and reactions, but traffic to my website dropped hard! Then I realized 90% the comments were AI, and figured probably 90% of likes/reactions were automated too (or people mass-clicking/commenting without paying attention). Seems like real people left. It's now just a social media platform full of bots. Other platforms have been declining too, but I've never seen it happen that fast. LinkedIn is a zombie now.

As a CIC they probably don’t have the income to pay for additional staff but this doesn’t mean that paid staff roles have been reduced.

@balumcarnes A UK limited company can’t legally run “volunteer” shifts like this. Fixed hours + sales duties = “workers” under the National Minimum Wage Act 1998. That means they must be paid. Discounts and tote bags don’t count. This is unlawful unpaid labour.
