Joy's daughter Sophie and her friends have been helping to petition and campaign against the proposed city wide cuts.
They say their "safe space" doesn't feel the same since the librarian's departure and are worried the worst is yet to come.

Earlier this month it was reported that 30 secondary schools across the city could see the role axed in order to save £100,000. Joy McLean’s daughter goes to Hillhead High School where the position recently became vacant. The Glasgow mum is calling for a complete reversal of the plans with more than 1,500 agreeing to her petition on the matter: change.org/p/save-our-sch… A Glasgow Life spokesperson said they are continuing to consult on the proposal and the new model would increase overall library provision by 27%.
