Not in a boat, not with a goat, not next to a lamb, I WILL NOT EAT SPAM! Mom never bought it, and the first time my ex did, and I saw that fatty jello like goop...I am GLAD Mom never made us eat that!

Also, go to the App Store and make sure that you don’t need an update. Sometimes this happens because your software isn’t updated to match what the system has, so your post won’t go through because there’s a broken API connection. That’s what I would start with is checking to see if there’s an update needed for your phone, for the X app, or any other local app on your phone that may be associated

Again??? @Support Why is it taking as much as 25 minutes to send my posts or replies??? I Uninstalled and reinstalled (which I will NEVER do again, it took an hour to get logged in) I cleared the cache, restarted...nothing helps.

@GeriPerna Same. I didn’t do it to my kids but have a brother-in-law whose kids are probably still waiting to be excused and they are 40!! 🤣🤣🤣

My parents were the "eat everything on your plate" kind of people, regardless of whether we liked it or not. I hated peas, beans (except green beans), and peppers. It didn't matter what they were in or what they were served with; I hated them and won't eat them to this day. I can remember sitting there for hours with a cold plate of these detested items in front of me. Occasionally, one of my brothers would sneak by and eat a spoonful for me. I never did that to my son when I had him. He had to taste it once; if he didn't like something, I didn't make him eat it. I think because they were raised that way, during the depression, they just couldn't fathom anyone rejecting food at the dinner table that my Dad had to work hard to get.

@GeriPerna For some reason I absolutely hated scalloped potatoes. As an adult, I questioned why. I like every ingredient in scallped potatoes. So I made a batch. But I still couldn't eat it. Do I have PTSD from my Mom making me eat it? It's a mystery.

@GeriPerna Peas and Lima beans. 🤢🤢🤢 To this day, I don’t/won’t eat either. I’ll even pick out or leave the peas out of soups or stews.

@GeriPerna That's low-key authoritarian torture for kids... We don't force little man to eat anything... Forcing me to sit and stare at brussel sprouts did NOT help me in any way as a kid- it just made me despise the folks doing it to me...

@GeriPerna Ugh. Some of my earliest memories were my waking up still sitting at the dinner table, my plate still full and even in the dimmed lights That Giant Glass of milk taunted me as I sat all alone at the kitchen table.

@GeriPerna Yup... Exactly... Kids' taste buds are different... I hated brussel sprouts and cabbage until I got older... You're a POS if you do that to your kid.

Geri, When you are tested the way that that generation was tested you know with intense remembrance of what the feeling of “going without” really was. To literally go without and have to figure it out in real time is very humbling. My grandparents great Uncles & Aunts born in teens & 20’s told me of having to work at 7 & 8 years of age to help the family. Going without teaches us first and of forced fasting.

@TalkWithSally It should bring to tears those people in our government who have the authority to make sure it never happens again.

3 years after Matthew Perna took his own life, the FBI agent who originally interviewed him and arrested him (after he turned himself in) showed up at my brother's house holding the clothing Matthew was wearing on January 6. He couldn't take the clothing to Matthew's Dad, because he died earlier that year, a brokenhearted father. Instead, he went to Matthew's uncle's house holding these clothes. My brother didn't know what to say. He was speechless; he stood there and cried. He called me and told me what happened. I pulled out the box of paperwork on Matthew's case and started going page by page to find that FBI agent's name. I called the Pittsburgh office and left a message. He called me back later that day. I asked him why, after 3 years, he felt the need to open that wound any deeper by returning those clothes? He told me that his supervisor assigned him to that task, since he was the one who arrested Matthew. I told him how hurtful that was, and told him how everything played out after he arrested Matthew. He told me that he was sorry. He told me that he really "liked" Matthew and felt bad about his death. He also told me that he didn't think that he would have been facing so many years in prison for basically misdemeanors. I was crying at this point. I told him that he played a role in all of this. He kept saying how sorry he was, and he started to cry too. I told him that if he truly felt that way, maybe working with the FBI wasn't for him. I told him to search his soul and think about a new career. I have these clothes now. My brother couldn't bear to look at them. I hate them, and everything about them. But I will keep them as a reminder that freedom of speech only applies to the elites, not the peasants.

@GeriPerna My grandparents, on both sides but my dad's more than my mom's, were like that when we ate dinner at their house. My Swedish grandma had an affinity for "stewed tomatoes" with every meal (🤢) my 3-yr old brother said "no thanks, I'm allergic to tomatoes", he got spanked 🥺

@GeriPerna I just had this exact convo yesterday. Same for me but it was just my mom who did this& I believe it was more of a control issue w her. Like you, I never did this w my children. I made them food I knew they would eat & didn't understand the forcing if they didn't like something.

@GeriPerna Once in a great while, during harvest, my mom would make Kraft Mac&cheese. I absolutely could not eat it. They’d make me and I’d throw up. I’d sit there forever. For my sister, it was ham. I spent 30% of my childhood waiting to be excused.
