My abortion is the kind people love to judge the most. I wasn’t underage, I wasn’t assaulted, and there was no medical emergency. I got pregnant because I knowingly had unprotected sex, no accident, no rare failure, just my own choices. By their standards, it was “irresponsible.” I knew abortion was an option, and I took it. Not because I couldn’t survive it or raise a child, I simply didn’t want one. I wanted sex without becoming a parent, and I chose not to carry the pregnancy. There’s no redemption arc here. I don’t regret it. Nothing terrible happened to me afterward, no punishment, no downfall. My life is still good. And that reality alone challenges everything people like to assume about women who make this choice.

It depends. There are definitely people who try to pursue the arts/ creative work that are making little to money (musicians, comedians, writers etc). Academia as well people sometimes make very very little for long periods of time. And often people in these fields are the most anti capitalism radicalized

@GenPolComm @dustyf1n1sh This isn’t the case for specifically those earning under 20k though. Any career path you choose if you’re willing to work full time will pay more than that. That’s an hours worked issue.

My solution to getting people to have more kids is to change social security so that you only get the social security that your kids are paying into the system This would be briefly hilarious before the riots and eventual civil war
Kitten 🐈@kitten_beloved

Here's the only material analysis that matters: for most of human history children were an economic asset, and now they're a liability Actually flipping that equation requires subsidies so massive they would subsume the entire budget, it's completely infeasible

The trade off is not a risk of serious long term adverse events. These drugs have been around since the 90s for diabetics so that would be known by now. The trade off is the GI side effects (nausea, diarrhea, etc) that for some people can be very hard to deal with. Generally the more side effects you have the better the drug works for you. That’s the trade off

All this peptide and retratide whatever stuff, GLP, ozempic etc I feel like it’s gonna come out with some crazy bad side effects or consequences in 10 years It’s just common sense nothing in life has no trade offs

@IanBegley @NBA_NewYork I get the mike brown ran out some lineups that clearly didn’t work, but it was the starters who blew the lead down the stretch. When does Brunson have to take his blame for the iso hero bal on one end and getting kills by McCollum on the other?

This is a damning statistic in a game the Knicks should have won/coughed away. I think it’s also worth pointing out the Knicks led by nine when Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns checked in to the game at the 7:56 mark of the fourth quarter.
ALL NBA Podcast@ALLCITY_NBA

The Knicks scored 1.23 points per possession in the halfcourt tonight when either Brunson, KAT, or both were on offense. They scored 0.77 points per possession in the halfcourt tonight on the possessions where both Brunson and KAT sat

@planert41 We have two young ones (4 and 2) and I can relate. Just try to carve out time for yourself to do things that energize you. Take care of your mental and physical health and wellbeing and you’ll have more energy overall which helps

Dads with young kids Is it normal to just feel tired and burnt out all the time? It’s like you don’t even really get the weekend to recover because it’s all just kid stuff the moment you wake up Arguably the only personal time you have is when they nap (and you’re already dead tired by that time) or the hour after they go to bed but before you pass out Just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong

I honestly wonder how the logistics of working full time with kids plays out once kids are in school. Between sick days, activities, summer vacation and other school breaks, doctor appointments, etc how do people do it?

Hey Friends, I lost my mom to a 3-year battle with breast cancer yesterday. I tell you this for 3 reasons: 1) I have the rare opportunity to tell thousands of people simultaneously that she was literally the greatest mother in the world; that I somehow hit the mom jackpot. I thank God every single day for that. And will continue to do so. Feels right to let you all know. 2) To express to you all the following: Knowing your family history can literally save your life and the lives of your loved ones. Do not delay. Do everything in your power to avoid what I now know too well is a brutal disease. Genetic testing helps identify risk early, empowers prevention, and guides better care. Talk to your family. Talk to your doctor. Please. Link here: cancer.org/cancer/types/b… 3) To encourage all of you still blessed with the opportunity, to hug your mommas while you can. Wishing you all love, health, and blessing. Rit/Benjy

These data showed that people who took trevogrumab with semaglutide maintained more muscle mass as they lost weight over the course of ~6 months than people who took semaglutide alone. Only problem is that doesn’t translate to any increase in total body weight lost, which is the FDA approvable endpoint. FDA has said that new treatments will need to show at least 5% more total weight loss than standard of care comparators to be approved, so it’s not clear there is any way for this to ever get to market. FDA would have to agree that some sort of composite endpoint on composition of weight loss could also be approvable, but there is not widespread agreement among experts that the significant muscle loss seen with GLPs is actually an issue with negative clinical outcomes

After Ozempic, another class of "magic pills" currently in the pipeline are Myostatin blockers which cut the brakes on muscle growth. These drugs will allow even casual Gym goers to get as muscular as present day bodybuilders with limited effort. Currently, these Myostatin blockers are undergoing trials in the US. If FDA approval is granted soon, they could become available in the mass market within 1 to 2 years.

There is no clinical data in humans on liposomal delivery of peptides. The bioavailability of branded oral semaglutide is only 1%; solving the bioavailability challenge or oral peptides is the holy grail of pharmacology. There’s no reason to believe Hims has solved this in a way NVO and LLY haven’t been able to figure out without them demonstrating it in a clinical trial.

Sadly the comments on this are full of people who don’t, and probably never will, understand that Hims is literally planning to sell them a placebo pill that isn’t going to work for $100/month and pretend that it’s exactly the same as the branded oral semaglutide. It’s not a cheap generic, it’s just a scam
Dr. Marty Makary@DrMakaryFDA

FDA will take swift action against companies mass-marketing illegal copycat drugs, claiming they are similar to FDA-approved products. The FDA cannot verify the quality, safety, or effectiveness of non-approved drugs.

@JayKnicky I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you can be comforted by Christ during this difficult time. Cancer is terrible, but she has traded the pain of that horrible disease for the warm embrace of Jesus. She will never truly be apart from you. I will pray for you both.

I am beyond grateful for the love and support that people have shown! My mom went to be with Jesus this morning. Cancer didn’t win, and your prayers were heard. God gave my mom a new body that will never be in pain again. Thank you all so much. I love yall!
NBA Jay Knicky 🇨🇷🇯🇲@JayKnicky

I don’t usually do this but if you believe in Jesus please pray for my mom. She’s been battling cancer for a few years and it’s getting the best of her right now. So if you could just pray for a miracle, it’d mean a lot. Thank you
