Not a Good Jewish Girlโœก๏ธ
This line of reasoning is so morally repulsive. Even if this wasn't a completely invented history of Palestine obviously ripped off Jewish history, it doesn't justify October 7. That was barbaric slaughter. There is no excuse for purposefully targeting civilians. There is no excuse for rape. There is no excuse for kidnapping children and returning them home in coffins after a celebratory parade. Especially by reference to history so old that everyone present is now dead, and all that remains is the theocratic resentment and entitlement of generations of children raised on the idea that they have the right to invade a sovereign country and slaughter or rape any man, woman, or child they find there, because doing so is "resistance." Justifying October 7 in any way, by inventing history or pointing to real history, not only makes the person doing so a monster, it makes them dumb. October 7 was a bacchanal of pure human evil. It accomplished nothing for Palestine. It, in fact, made the people of Palestine much worse off. Justifying October 7, or contextualizing it to implicitly do so, is just the ultimate form of colonial voyeurism. It doesn't help Israelis or Palestinians. It doesn't create peace. It creates a permission structure for a new massacre and then another war. If the goal is enjoying the slaughter, and feeling morally righteous, then bravo, that is all you've accomplished.
James Melville ๐Ÿšœ@JamesMelville

Iโ€™ve just watched Palestine 36: So many people need a history lesson. October 7th wasnโ€™t the start. It goes back a long long way. Imagine being a citizen to a place that lost status, sovereignty, human rights, freedom and land. And then for decades got hemmed in, encroached, destroyed and an appropriation of the land unchecked. Destinies of people who have lived there for generations completely torn up. Grief turns into rage. It would anywhere. But apparently itโ€™s โ€œantisemiticโ€ to raise any concerns about this.

It's always so funny to see these right wing assholes think they're breaking some hard-hitting news when they're like "they're handing out signs!" and "we discovered organizations behind this" like it's some big conspiracy instead of just how organizing works.
Charles R Downs@TheCharlesDowns

No Kings โ€œprotestersโ€ on Capitol Hill lost it when I exposed that they were handing out pre-printed signs. When I asked why they never have organic signs, they started calling me a โ€œpedophile protector.โ€ The anti-Trump movement is completely deranged.

๐Ÿšจ REPORT | Israel has launched over 1,000 airstrikes on Gaza in the 167 days since the โ€œceasefireโ€ was signed last October. And less than 25% of the minimum required aid has entered Gaza in the past week. The Palestinian resistance documented 2,166 violations of the ceasefire since it began in October, averaging 13 violations per day, including widespread live fire, artillery, and aerial attacks across the Strip. ๐Ÿ“Œ A document obtained by Drop Site, and shared with mediators, shows the following: โ–ช๏ธ On the ground: โ€ข 1,014 airstrikes and shelling incidents recorded โ€ข 799 live fire incidents โ€ข Repeated strikes across Rafah, Gaza City, and northern Gaza โ€ข Children wounded in drone fire in multiple areas โ–ช๏ธ Casualties: โ€ข 692 killed โ€ข 1,895 wounded โ€ข 44.2% of those killed are children, women, and elderly โ€ข 54.3% of the wounded are vulnerable civilians โ–ช๏ธ Aid blockade: โ€ข Only ~40% of agreed aid allowed in โ€ข Fuel deliveries at just 14.8% โ€ข 993 trucks entered this week vs. 4,200 scheduled (23.6%) โ–ช๏ธ Rafah crossing: โ€ข Only 2,134 of 8,600 planned civilian crossings carried out (24.8%) โ€ข Medical evacuations and humanitarian cases severely restricted The report also cites continued obstruction of infrastructure repairs, denial of heavy equipment entry, and ongoing torture and abuse of detainees, pointing to a systematic erosion of the ceasefire and worsening humanitarian conditions across Gaza.

Hey @NYCMayor Zohran Mamdani: You chose to say โ€œJewishโ€ when it was negativeโ€”and left it out when it was positive. Explain that.

Letโ€™s break down what Mamdani did yesterday. Zohran Mamdani had to delete his first post yesterday which originally described someone โ€œattempting to blow upโ€ Nerdeen Kiswaniโ€™s houseโ€”pure anger-stoking rhetoric. Then, he still deliberately chose to spell out โ€œJewish Defense Leagueโ€ (not just the commonly abbreviated term JDL, like his post about the ISIS-inspired terrorists). He had to shove โ€œJewishโ€ front and center at the top of the post. He wrote about fighting against political violence while ignoring Kiswaniโ€™s repeated calls for โ€œresistance by any means necessary.โ€ The โ€œflee to Israelโ€ detail? Completely unnecessary. Kiswani loved it, and retweeted it enthusiastically. Deliberate fuel on the fire. He knows what heโ€™s doing. Heโ€™s pretending to speak against political violence while inciting it.

Only in our rotten city can someone like @NerdeenKiswani become a sympathetic figure. While I certainly do NOT condone violence directed at anyone Nerdeen is a vile and hateful antisemite. This is not my opinion this is an unarguable fact. When people like Nerdeen and Khalil are granted โ€œvictim statusโ€ by @NYCMayor you know weโ€™ve basically lost our city!

Mamdani put the word โ€œJewishโ€ in the first line of his tweet. Then went on to elaborate on the organization. When it comes to Muslim terroristsโ€”like the ones demonstrating in the vicinity of his homeโ€”he refuses to name them. Of course Kiswani is an infamous terror supporter herselfโ€”and a friend of the mayor.

This is what governmental anti-Semitism looks like. Mamdani had to emphasize the Jewish side of a deranged individual and portrayed the entire Jewish community a violent, a generalization he would never use against any other religious group.

Nerdeen Kiswani was NOT the victim of a foiled assassination. Hereโ€™s what happened: An unknown man with unconfirmed ties to the JDL was charged by the DA with VANDALISM. The NYT then laundered this falsehood on a Friday night so the Jewish community couldnโ€™t respond.

Why is the reporting saying that Heifler was planning to assassinate Kiswani? The District Attorney's Office and the Indictment both say that he was planning vandalism. He was charged for making and possessing unlawful destructive devices (Molotov cocktails). This is, of course, still bad. justice.gov/usao-nj/media/โ€ฆ justice.gov/usao-nj/pr/hobโ€ฆ
