@aboutceltic The first thing we need is a quality, experienced Director of Football fully empowered to overhaul the club on and off the park. They should be in place ASAP to help recruit new manager & lead the summer rebuild with proper modern recruitment & analytics in place

What are the three main positions of our starting XI you would prioritise in the summer transfer window? 🤔💭

@ETimsNet While I am desperately hoping we can pull off a miracle this team don't deserve to win the league.

Of course I want us to win but in all honesty our board deserve fuck all this season other than being sacked. They’ve watched over 3 successive awful transfer windows as a team on cusp of last 16 of CL & with £70m+ in bank has regressed massively. It’s like self-sabotage #Celtic

@coplandrear4 @Celtic_365 @spfl @ScottishFA Wow that really shows how much on the park refs are bending over backwards to help Rangers. Not the biggest fan of VAR but it definitely keeps a bit of a lid on rampant cheating to help Rangers although Beaton, McLean, Dickinson, Hardie, MacDermid, Robertson do their best

Should Celtic have been awarded a penalty against Hibs for this on Liam Scales? Find out what SFA head of refereeing Willie Collum said on that, and much more here: youtube.com/watch?v=4C6P-M…

@davierobb73 @OasisMania @liamgallagher @NoelGallagher Exactly. I’m in no way the biggest Oasis fan, though they’ve got plenty of music I love. There’s no denying how seismic they were, though. There was a time they were the centre of the musical universe for a large portion of the country.

Noel Gallagher on the legacy of Oasis "Gone are the days when bands like The Smiths and The Jam would always be in the top ten. Oasis are probably the last of the big – and I use this term because I can’t think of another – ‘alternative’ bands to really make an impact on the country"

@DominikDiamond I've never been his biggest fan, mostly for his diving. However, when I saw him in the flesh playing I appreciated he is top quality.

@PremSportsTV @sbk I thought even a yellow was harsh. He accidentally stood on his foot. Sore for Just and a foul but nothing more.

@allthatchas I'm not buying that. He was bigging us up on Stick to Football and seemed to be loving it in first season. It all started falling apart after he got injured at end of last season

Acted like he’s too big for us since day one. Tut-tutted performatively during fan protests. Unsettled the players in front of him, as Scales hinted recently. Carried on playing when he was injured because he wanted a World Cup place. Costs us points in a tough season.

@batcountry1980 For me it was style over substance from the start. It was so over the top & the fighting, albeit to good songs, was akin to dance fights out of West Side Story

I’ve been doing a rewatch of Peaky Blinders before the movie comes out. And, even though I’m still looking forward to it, season 5 has reminded me just how bad the writing became. The finale alone was bordering on nonsensical, and contained one of the most ridiculous plot points I’ve ever seen in anything. There were moments that made no sense throughout the season. The Billy Boys, feared Glasgow razor-gang, killing Aberama Gold’s son then just leaving him alive, was one. You’d probably guess that a vicious assassin is going to come looking for revenge after you murder his boy. Nailing him to a cross was another daft moment. If they’d done a wee bit of research, I’m sure they’d have found that the Billy Boys weren’t really fans of all things related to crucifixes, so why that would be their thing I don’t know. Not that anyone seems bothered with how characters should behave. Tommy Shelby gave Bonnie Gold the iconic cap in the last season, told him he’s a Peaky Blinder now, yet he, and the rest of the family, don’t seem that arsed when one of their own is killed. All of this is small potatoes, though. It’s the finale where things really go down hill. First we’ve got Tommy Shelby’s grand plan. He wants to have Oswald Mosley assassinated. Now, unless the writers are going to pull a Tarantino and rewrite history, we know that doesn’t happen. So we are waiting for it all to fall apart. His plan isn’t to just have him shot anywhere at any time. Or to kill him when he has him at his home, completely unguarded. No, he wants to have him shot at a rally. The reason being that none of this will now lead back to him. So, he goes to a mental institute, where they record who he visited, speaks to a man he served with in France, gets him out the jail so he can assassinate Mosley, and then says “oh, when he’s caught he will just be a lone nut and none of it will lead back to me” Really?! There’s a pretty big trail there, Tommy. You visited the guy, you served with him in France, he’s broken out of jail and kills Mosley days later. Not only does Tommy want Mosley killed but his plan is to then take over the fascist party because he is against fascism, and he is going to destroy it from the inside out. I’m not going to waste too much time on this. It just makes no sense. Now things really get absurd. The plan to assassinate Mosley is stopped. By the IRA. Yip, the IRA decides it wants to save Oswald Mosley, apparently because the chaos (a few rallies) he’s stirring in the UK is good for their cause. Know what’s not good for the IRA’s cause, though? A fascist leader who is all about “the empire” getting in power. Aye, he seems like the kind of guy that’s going to be into pulling troops out of Northern Ireland. Not only do they wish to foil the plan, but they are willing to make enemies to do it. You’d think they’d wish to have Tommy Shelby, feared Birmingham crime lord, onside? Could come in handy later, no? Never mind that. Stop his plan, kill his men, and , bizarrely, kill his aunt Polly. Now, I know the tragic circumstances around Helen McCrory, legend that she was, being written out the show. But in-universe it makes no sense. Why would the IRA antagonise the Peaky Blinders even more by killing Polly? It was one of those “eh?” moments as I watched it. But it wasn’t the worst. Not by a long shot.
