Mr. Hundeyin's disengagement was due to repeated, and documented financial irresponsibility. The Board members no longer had confidence in his commitment to the core principles of WAW or in his work ethic. In due time, more communication will be made available on these issues.

Thank you for recognising June 12 as democracy day and for the posthumous award to the winner of the election. NADECO won. Their victory will be etched in our national consciousness forever and will be remembered every June 12 yearly.

@Habletic @MobilePunch I don't get... but I def know y'all are missing my point here. Read what I posted again. You will see it. Why should parents now be stealing the show in interhouse sport meant for their children?

@MobilePunch Interhouse sports for children are gradually shifting and drifting away from tending to kids and now to their parents! I dunno how to feel about it. But is it not a bit too much? I'd go cos of my children. But the participation? Not sure I'd do this much!

@FotoNugget This happened in my town. This school (Shekinah College) is one of the best schools in Osun State, and most probably the best in Odo-otin local government. And the boy? A very bright student. The program was a talent showcase and this was his performance.

Itโ€™s Not a Manโ€™s Responsibility to Make You Happy โ€” Jada Pinkett Smith Says Finding Happiness Outside Marriage to Will Smith Was Key to Her Healing During a recent interview, Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about the challenges of expecting someone else to make you happy. She says no matter how hard Will Smith tried to make her happy, it didnโ€™t work. She added that she later realized it wasnโ€™t his responsibility, which led her to seek happiness in other people while still married a process she says ultimately helped her heal. โ€œIt is not his responsibility to make you happy. He canโ€™t. Itโ€™s impossible,โ€ she said, reflecting on her own journey. She admitted it took her a long time to fully understand this. โ€œBut it took me forever. Hard-headed, stubborn, you know, because that romantic idea, and thatโ€™s why I talk about checking the boxes. Itโ€™s like, I did everything I was supposed to do. You get to have your dream, how come Iโ€™m not having mine?โ€ Pinkett Smith explained that the reason wasnโ€™t about her efforts but about the other personโ€™s choices. โ€œAnd thatโ€™s because Will was doing what he wanted to do. He was making himself happy. And also tells me to make myself happy, Heโ€™s like, go, go, go make yourself happy.โ€

Power does reveal character, but history isnโ€™t optional. Abachaโ€™s regime brought military dictatorship, Ogoni executions, Kudiratโ€™s assassination, billions looted, and a gagged press with many living in fear of being locked in dungeons. Some families never recovered from the trauma and those old wounds have not healed fully. NADECO activists werenโ€™t perfect including a few relatives of mine, but equating them as โ€œworseโ€ than that era romanticizes real atrocities many Nigerians suffered. Letโ€™s critique todayโ€™s failures on rule of law and accountability across all sides, but letโ€™s not rewrite the past to score points. I would equally frown tomorrow if someone says endsars protesters, are worse than murderous/criminal police officers. A New Nigeria needs facts, not selective memory. Letโ€™s build Nigeria forward with truth. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
