Ff19 achieves the same feeling while also letting you actually explore it's world, engage with it's people and go backwards frame 1.

@deon_lt FFX was linear but gave you things to do and you coukd go backwards until Bevelle without issue. FF13 dumps you in random spaces with no connectivity and makes you walk foward with nothing else to do but fight enemies

Unpopular opinion? #FFXIII is overly hated imo. Talk about it being a hallway simulator, agree, it is linear, but so was FFX. It's obviously done for the purpose of story beats and the pacing is good. I'm not saying it's as good as earlier FF, but it is a strong game still IMO.

They're not side quests, they're basically mandatory for character progression, you either do them or fall behind the curve, and there are over a dozen of them every new area, this is one of the many reasons I say that the remakes are shit compared to the original, no fucking concept of pacing.

People saying the AI sucks in the remake trilogy because you’re supposed to keep switching characters, if you keep switching characters you can’t exploit the synergy abilities, which require manual inputs and holds. You should be able to dominate any fight easily using 1 char.
