The team was getting close and he wanted to give them chances.
The cap was flat and they didn’t have the space to add money.
The players he wanted to move had negotiated trade protection.
That’s all indisputably true.

Are we really surprised by his reported destinaton options. Players like Brady Tkachuk who have the power, will always have a short list of winning organizations, tax free states and with the case of the @FlaPanthers , he gets to play with his brother too! That’s what I call a hat trick!

My understanding is the Senators also had conversations with Carolina and Vegas, other teams that were on Tkachuk's list. I also think Minnesota was on the list. Four-team list but in the end, Brady obviously wanted to go join his brother in Florida. Senators made the best of a tough situation.
