@nyc_paulie I think it's a lot more complicated for that. For instance, if you're Jaroslav Chmelař, you can't relate to players like Zibanejad or Fox, to whom it all comes naturally. You can relate to a guy like Sheary, who had to scrap his way to make it and survive in this league.

@AdamZHerman I just listed multiple guys that fit that role. Scoring goals and teaching a guy not to get plastered the night before a game are two different things. They have enough guys to show how to act. After a while it becomes “holy shit another fucking guy trying to get in my ear”

I get the frustration but, especially at this juncture, you do need guys like Sheary. He's a really good pro. It's not just about the 15 minutes of icetime. It's about showing youngsters how to be a pro. Practice time, eating habits, acting the right way on road trips, etc.

@AdamZHerman And im still waiting for someone to ask the coach and gm why Sheary is in the lineup every game in a season with no playoff hopes and he has no future on the team . Every game they are wasting an opportunity for someone to get time and be evaluated in a lost season.

I have full respect for what Jonathan Quick has accomplished in NY. Humbly took a backup role, changed his playing style, exceeded expectations. He's 40 and statistically the second-worst goalie in the NHL since Jan 1. NYR are rebuilding. It's time for Dylan Garand to play.
