@zapatas_mom The US has had a significant illegal immigration problem. It has drained resources for sure. I expect with better control at our borders things will improve quickly. Our welfare state has grown too large to quick.

@Jason IMO military spend is a giant embezzlement scheme. We supposedly spend trillions but where is the output? I suspect some are getting rich off US tax payers while the spend creates the illusion of strength. Remember the DOD has failed its audit 8 years. To who is the money going

Someone educate me as to why the US Navy can't eliminate Iran's “mosquito fleet.” I get these are small, fast speedboats, but can't they be quickly eliminated by helicopters and jets, as well as ship-mounted guns? How many of these do they even have?!

Trump using the U.S. Navy to blockade the Strait of Hormuz could easily be considered an act of war by other nations impacted by the action. What right does the U.S. have to use military force to prevent China from buying oil? However, China’s right to retaliate would seem clear.

@VladTheInflator Sorry friend. You haven't accounted for actual construction inflation adjustment. Homes are cheaper, relative to the construction costs, than they've ever been. I know it's not what you want to hear but home ownership is out of reach for most now.

Homes are CURRENTLY priced at 2.7% mortgage rates because homeowners are uneducated morons being lead by an industry that wants always higher home prices. Every 1% increase in mortgage rates removes 10% of your home value. This is just basic math. Why are home sales at the lowest level per capita in US history? 1. Demographics 2. No one can afford prices that are now 38% too high If you and all your neighbors can't afford your own homes at today's prices and mortgage rates, don't expect a bunch of people 3x more successful than you to move into you basic house.

I’m noticing a lot of foreigners who seem to not understand why we’d risk hundreds of lives, spend millions of dollars, and sacrifice several aircraft to rescue one guy. And the reason they don’t understand is also the reason people can’t be made American by a piece of paper.

@NiohBerg Why are there hundreds of thousands? The story that the Iranian people what liberty but magically there are 300k Soldiers doesn't make sense. A 300k armed force doesn't just magically appear. That's an entire counties army. An Iranian army.

Good question! The answer is no. I'll explain and try to be brief: There are hundreds of thousands of basijis and IRGC thugs, armed to the teeth and fanatically willing to die. Meanwhile, Iranian citizens are unarmed and traumatised from the last massacre. Unfortunately, while drone strikes on checkpoints have been very welcome and appreciated, it just hasn't been widespread enough. They don't have bases, but instead they operate out of their homes and keep their guns there. They terrorise civilians by shooting into people's windows and randomly killing others. If Iranians were to flood the streets today, they'd be mowed down just like before. Not having weapons or internet access is the main problem here. Iranians can't fight Shia ISIS barehanded. It doesn't help that the regime has imported Iraqi terrorists who are now ALSO roaming the streets. It will also take a significant wave of assassinations of regime suppression figures, judges and commanders. And the assassinations so far, once again while appreciated, aren't enough yet. The next weeks will be very vital to set the stage for a true regime change.

Why is the U.S. using F15’s? It’s 54 years old, there’s so many more advanced and stealth jets to use. I’m confused why they are using such ancient jets.

Solana just got its final reality check. Drift Protocol, one of the biggest perpetuals DEXes on the chain, just got drained for $270M+ in a massive exploit. On April 1. And they had to tweet “this is NOT an April Fools joke.” After years of pump.fun turning Solana into the biggest meme-coin casino and rug-pull factory in crypto… After Toly and Mert spent years gaslighting everyone about how “decentralized” and “battle-tested” the chain is while it kept having outages, validator concentration issues, and VC-controlled narratives… This is the bill finally coming due. The most toxic, arrogant, hype-driven, “number go up” ecosystem in crypto just hit the wall. Hard. $SOL less
Drift@DriftProtocol

We are observing unusual activity on the protocol. We are currently investigating. Please do not deposit funds into the protocol while we investigate. This is not an April Fools joke. Proceed with caution until further notice. We’ll provide additional updates from this account.

22-year-old Wisconsin teacher Nadia Horn groomed three 16-year-old boys, buying one a phone so he could send her “really revealing” nude pics on Snapchat. She had full sex with one pupil three times in her apartment and slept with a second teen. Then she invited all three boys round, plied them with wine and let them stay the night. Horn confessed but claimed it “felt mutual” and “I made a mistake”. Now charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child plus multiple counts of child enticement and sexual assault by school staff. Faces up to 40 years behind bars.

SOLANA NOW LEADS ALL BLOCKCHAINS IN ALL-TIME UNIQUE DEVELOPERS 🚀 Solana has overtaken Ethereum and crossed a critical milestone -- more total developers have built on $SOL than $ETH since inception. This matters because developer count is the leading indicator of chain durability, product innovation, and long-term adoption during bear markets. Builder momentum tells the real story.

@DCinvestor I read a great write up. Depends on Trump's definition of bomb. Could knock out electronics that control the power output for 24 hours. Long enough for a short term power outage perfectly timed to military strike.

this looks like it was a threat to Iran, but really, it was more likely a threat to NATO to compel their involvement without further risking the supplies of energy they need and can’t replace he’s still talking tough, but Trump will 90% have to TACO on this one if he doesn’t, then we are all going to hell for the next 5-10 years

@GadSaad Most people don't care about ethnicity. Further more the ones that do typically don't consider Jewish an ethnicity. Those compounded together mean nobody gives a rats ass about Jews. Stop killing people in Gaza and people will continue to forget your self imposed label.

I have obviously been exposed to the worst manifestations of Jew-hatred imaginable beginning in my childhood in Lebanon. But I must say that seeing people whom I have been on very friendly terms, and in some instances have promoted their voices, delve into Nazi-level Jew-hatred is tough to process. How did I sit down at a table with such an individual? Did they hate me then but hide it? Or did they develop their current positions recently?

Every time my sister’s baby woke at night, her husband got up, changed the diaper, and handed the baby to her to nurse. It worked for them. After my son was born, it became clear my husband was not built for middle-of-the-night duty. From 12–5:30 a.m., I was on my own. But every morning he took the baby, let me sleep, and had hot coffee waiting when I woke up. That worked for us. There’s no one-size-fits-all in parenting, despite what 𝕏 discourse would have you believe.

I don't see how Anthropic, OpenAI or any of the model providers have any hope of defending their moats. And consequently, I think they're going to get wiped out. Right now, in early 2026 they have a meaningful advantage in terms of model capability. But far cheaper and open source models are not far behind. How long can they maintain a meaningful advantage? For the vast majority of use cases, we don't actually need much higher intelligence. It doesn't take 140 IQ to automate Turbotax or powerpoint. Eventually we will be saturated in cheap, local models that are "good enough". Of course some scientific labs and frontier research will always want the latest and greatest. But that market is orders of magnitude smaller than these company valuations can justify. What am I missing?
