India DeFi Alliance

We’ve grown tired of the status quo around blockchain policy in India, and we’ve decided to do something about it. Introducing India DeFi Alliance (IDA). Our response is a much needed industry body focused on policy, dialogue, research, and responsible innovation in India. Our report “Distributed Infrastructure as National Economic Imperative" was launched in a closed-door roundtable on 3 December, 2025. If India doesn’t shape the rails of the programmable economy, it will still use them, but on terms set elsewhere. That’s not a crypto problem. 
That’s an infrastructure choice.

This is the gap IDA is focused on. Moving the conversation beyond tax rates, toward how distributed financial infrastructure should be governed and built in India, so we aren’t left out of the next phase of the digital future.

Budget 2026 didn’t “ban” crypto. It did something subtler: it made staying onshore in India economically irrational.
