It’s a pleasure to introduce the teams for the Student of Bitcoin Accelerator. These teams were picked because they’re working on real problems in the Indian and global Bitcoin landscape. The goal: give builders and tinkerers the structure to figure out if their idea is a pet project or has the potential to become a sustainable business. We have 12 weeks to find out! Success here isn’t about raising money. It’s about clarity on what comes next.

Just wrapped up an incredible conversation with the Divot team about Bitcoin, entrepreneurship, and why California needs to wake up. A couple things we covered: 𝗢𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻: I bought my first bitcoins at $4. Lost everything to Mt. Gox. Bought back in in a US Marshall's auction when I paid over market at $632. People thought I was crazy when Bitcoin was at $180 in 2014 and I predicted $10,000 by 2017. Three years to the day later, it hit exactly that. My next prediction was thwarted by a misguided administration. Now, we are back on track. Now I'm calling $250,000 in six months, and all up from there. $1,$2 maybe $10 million before Bitcoin eclipses the use of the dollar. The Bitcoin network keeps growing while the dollar keeps shrinking. 𝗢𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: At Draper University, we've proven you can create and mould entrepreneurs from ordinary people. We've taken 6,000 founders, who started 2,000 companies. Six are already worth over a billion dollars. All in 15 years. The secret is getting people to realize it's okay to stick their necks out. Accelerator Program Week 1 Update 📢 Watching nine teams work through their problem definition last week was a good reminder that clarity and specificity are not easy. Narrowing down is hard but necessary.

When I announced the accelerator program, I honestly didn't know what to expect. 10 applications, maybe? We got 40! I planned to select just 5 teams, but the quality of ideas pushed that number to 9 🤯

Last month, I had the privilege of attending the @Bitplebs_in in Goa and finally meeting the Indian builders in person. Young, hungry, and talented. @bitshala_org invited me to judge a pitch competition, and I was blown away by the products and solutions presented. It made me wonder how I could better support these Indian entrepreneurs. I have a lot to learn myself, and will put my time and money where my mouth is. I will be organizing a part-time remote accelerator to help early-stage ideas become clear, grounded and pitch-ready as long as it leverages Bitcoin. Bitcoin doesn’t always have to be the main course. Sometimes it’s the spice. The program runs for 12 weeks, ends with a pitch day and a chance to win up to 10M sats in funding.
