We will continue to struggle in our mission or perhaps to even discover it, if the water in our well is dry. The apostles who were ordained to spread the gospel, preached with little fruit to show until their 10 day retreat before Pentecost. If they required such attention to the interior life after living so close to Christ, how much more do we?

A preacher endowed with learning but of only mediocre piety may be able to paint a picture of Christian Truth that will stir souls, bring them a little closer to God, even increase their faith. When we ask God to change our circumstances to bring us more comfort, we should be thankful when He does not grant this request. To grant this would be to strengthen the hold this world has on our hearts. Preventing us from moving on to the better world that awaits us.

@InteriorMastery Like faith and good works with the cooperation of God's sanctifying grace- the same one present in the sacraments and an essential grace for our interior lives.

In the Latin Rite, standing to receive Communion was restored after Vatican II. While standing to receive Communion goes back to the time of the early Church, it is not so simple as the story goes as to why kneeling became the norm for many centuries after the early Church.🧵

11/ This debate is an intense one on social media, but without trying to properly understand the issue at hand, we can resort to nominalism and voluntarism, which are erroneous and defeat the purpose of having such debates that may try to lead us to the truth.

Public scandal demands public correction. So I ask, if not Bishop Strickland, who else publicly stood up? For those that attack him for grandstanding, I ask, will you stand up and be the example of how to address this in a way that is not? What you attack vs. what you keep silent reveals a lot.

Strickland isn't above reproach, but what's the worst thing you could accuse him of - divisiveness? Because I'm pretty sure child sex abuse is whole magnitude worse a crime than that. Is it because it's 𝘰𝘶𝘳 children being abused that only the laity seem to recognize this fact?
