I am not sure how such news passed without proper notice. But Hamas today refused to start disarming for the entry of the new Gaza technocratic committee. On another note, the countries that pledged to donate money to the board of Peace and the reconstruction of Gaza are still hesitant given Hamas's control over the Strip and the war in Iran. (Only US, UAE, and Morocco have funded so far out of 10 countries pledged funds). Hamas is blocking the rebuilding of Gaza since the ceasefire, and the absolute silence about this is something no short of shameful.

private services do NOT get poorer results. my personal experience has been the complete opposite. Yes it costs, but being forced to wait in an ER for 6 hours just to be told that you have to wait til they call you to make an appt for a CT or MRI - weeks - is NOT acceptable. cost vs immediate diagnosis and treatment that left worsens. One of my favourite health-care experiences in Canada (in a bad way!) was having a potential medical situation that was serious but NOT an emergency. No GPs or walk-ins available. ER wasn't appropriate. Called the Ontario telehealth line. After a long wait, got a nurse. 1/3

Son: “Not opening the door. Break it if you have a warrant. It’s under appeal.” The father is clear: he’ll die where he chooses. He sounds clear and rational to me. The dispute? Sister wants the farm. Father wants to stay. She alleges dementia, son says he is clear and rational. Police are caught in the middle. But enforcing a Thursday night order on Good Friday with no time for legal response is dirty pool. In the end the officers leave because they are not going to kick down the door and the son knows it. The son also says he doesn't trust the police or the courts. These days, I don't blame him at all.

The #CPC has a full bot thing going on this Toronto Star headline. It's innocuous and apparently wrong on the location. It happens. Me, I simply tweeted the headline. Maybe read a line or two of the story. That's it. Word went out to swarm me (and anybody) who reposted the Star headline. I've been called every name in the book. It came in waves. I just mock and block 'em all. But it reveals something about Team Tory: instead of pointing out an error, politely, they go insane and attack anyone who may have offended Dear Leader. As a national political columnist, will I remember this bullshit forever? No. But it certainly reinforces my view that Tory partisans are sucks - who always defeat themselves. #cdnpoli
