@AdamCrigler No I meant prior to release like bungie was basically saying it was going to revolutionize gaming and it was super hyped up to be amazing and with expectations that high on release people would obviously nitpick as much as possible.

@nullcoma @MallowTheQueen @marathonaire Yeah, I wouldn't have bought this game if I didn't play the server slam. In fact, I was apathetic at best toward it. The free to play week pulled me in.

I think at this point itโs very unlikely that more people will give Marathon a chance unless there will be a Free Weekend maybe. My hope is that we will see more and more people coming in when Season 2 drops. The game is good and Iโm confident that the player base will grow if the game keeps improving.

I think a big reason Marathon doesn't pull in more and more players each day is simply because it doesn't dip into using the typical retention strategies people expect from FPS games. There's no daily challenges, no casual mode. It has an all-or-nothing approach

@Arrrrash Perimeter definitely has the least amount of events, but I love the layout of it. When I'm just trying to chill and do some low stakes contracts, I go there.

@jaqqardak @Luuminah Honestly, this. Assassin mains like me are constantly listening for footsteps and other sounds to pinpoint where enemy runners are. That's honestly why we crouch all the time. The best way to counter is to slow down and listen for the cloak/unlcloak sound.

think a good middle ground for allowing lower level/geared players to access cryo and still keeping it as The Salty Spatoon Endgame Map is offering 1 or 2 free cryo kits every week so even people who are broke can try it out and learn

One of the best parts of the original films was the visual progression from a more warm and whimsical setting to something more cold and grey. It really seems strange that they decided to just jump to the latter?

Gotta agree the melee damage is TOO strong. I still think it should be strong so free kits have a chance...
But maybe like 1 more melee needed overall OR increased backstab damage and heavily nerf front facing melee damage.
Issue is its too easy to lose to a knife when holding a shotgun, mainly because when you are being melee'd players get rubber-bandy.

Strong disagree, I like that it forces you to hunt that final kill for the squad wipe. It also gives the lone survivor something to do, remove it and after your squad gets wiped all you can do is go extract
