@switchyards heh … Thanks. Around mid-morning, it came back online and stayed steady the rest of the day. Appreciate you guys staying on top of it.
English

@JeffHaws Sorry you had that experience. Comcast was in and out around Downtown this morning and there was nothing we could do. Where's Starlink when we need it?!

English

@switchyards I just got to the downtown location and can’t get any Internet. Are you having issues? I can’t work without getting online. Thanks.
English

@JeffHaws Internet outages Downtown this AM. Sorry about that! Looks to be back online.
English

@Rematch727 @BlooperBraves I love that you expect thorough, fair analysis from the Braves’ mascot. Perhaps next, you can demand the Stanford Tree provide us with a Q3 stock market forecast.
English

@BlooperBraves Maybe actually read the piece before commenting, my friend
English

@rains_anna @SportsTalkATL Shortstop is a rough place to go with "maybe" when you've got a "for sure" right there in front of you.
English

@SportsTalkATL Or maybe we don’t need him. Invest in time to Grissom
English

@Deep_Fried_Dave Not sure. But it probably wouldn't be the same team getting no-hit twice in a row. It would be the same starting pitcher being part of a combined no-hitter in back-to-back starts.
English

@JeffHaws @nut_history I doubt we’ll ever find out. When was the last time a team even in the worst hitting slump was no-hit in consecutive games?
English

@Deep_Fried_Dave @nut_history Right. That's what you're talking about. But I guess what I'm saying is ... as far as the "record" goes, what would MLB say on that matter? They've said combined no-hitters ARE no-hitters. So would they recognize back-to-back combined ones by a starter as equaling JVM?
English

@JeffHaws @nut_history For the record, I’m talking complete game no-nos. I’m OK with combos being recognized, but no one pitcher gets credit for that.
English

@Deep_Fried_Dave @nut_history Depends on what we mean by "no-hitter." If we're OK with "combined no-hitters" counting, I think someone could match it. Starter just needs to throw 5 hitless innings, then hand it to a series of flamethrowers going full tilt for the next 4.
English

@nut_history For me, it’s Johnny Vander Meer’s no-hitters in consecutive starts. I can’t see anyone ever matching that, much less breaking it.
English

@JeffSchultzATL If it ever snowed like that here, I think we'd just close Atlanta permanently and hibernate until the roads cleared in June so we could find new places to live.
English

Nobody in Atlanta should complain how cold it is.
Good morning.

Update: it's still snowing. 😱 #GoBills | #BillsMafia

@amandalhu @bryan_kirschner Was hoping for a thoughtful conversation without insults and snide remarks. That was what I wanted out of it. Admittedly, that was probably naive, especially on Twitter, and especially when you’re immediately labeling me with a sarcastic hashtag. My fault. Enjoy your day.
English

@JeffHaws @bryan_kirschner Yeah Jeff, I’m the one who is condescending. But seriously Jeff, you come into a thread to say “what are we supposed to do?” and someone tells you exactly what to do and you say “that seems hard.” What do you want out of this?

English

Ok so it turns out all the immunity debt garbage is even more wrong because infection with pathogens, especially COVID, messes up your microbiome. Great work, turnips!
laurie allee (retired account)@laurieallee
COVID reduces bacterial species in the gut, creating an opportunity for dangerous antibiotic-resistant bacteria to thrive, according to new study: "infection directly interferes with the healthy balance of microbes in the gut, further endangering patients" msn.com/en-us/health/m…
English

@amandalhu @bryan_kirschner Ah, I see it’s time for you to be condescending and act like I’m an idiot. Got it. I guess that’s a good time to stop interacting, then. Best of luck to you, Amanda. Stay healthy and safe.
English

@JeffHaws @bryan_kirschner Belgium has made these air quality upgrades mandatory, China is still zero COVID, Japan, Taiwan, S Korea all still masking, Germany back to FFP2 in public. You do realize there are more places outside the United States, right?
English

@amandalhu @bryan_kirschner I’m saying it doesn’t make sense because people won’t do it. If you think they will, I think you aren’t observing human behavior. You can choose to take those steps forever. Most stopped long ago, from what I see.
English

@JeffHaws @bryan_kirschner You are saying they make no sense because you don’t feel like doing it, not because it isn’t necessary. This one virus has actually changed everything
English

@bryan_kirschner @amandalhu I’m not sure it’s doable, but I see no reason it’s not worth at least trying and getting closer to than we are now.
English

@JeffHaws @amandalhu For sure the sensible long term solution is the infrastructure...but it is eminently doable!
English

@amandalhu @bryan_kirschner But I just said I was cool with doing what Bryan said. Let’s encourage better indoor air filtration. That seems to make sense. I didn’t say do nothing. I said that some particular things make no sense forever. Your answer didn’t address that.
English

@JeffHaws @bryan_kirschner Jeff listen, these are 2021-level COVID minimizer tweets. We even already have hashtag #DoNothingGuy
English

@EditorEdge heh … I’ve gotta hear how Ball State helps UT’s SOS rating.
English

@bryan_kirschner @amandalhu Gonna take some organization and money, but OK. I welcome the effort to convince municipalities and businesses to take those steps. It’s the “Everyone needs to wear an N95 or better and avoid anything indoors for the rest of their lives” idea that seems entirely unrealistic.
English

@JeffHaws @amandalhu In rich countries we are going to clean drinking water forever
Cleaning indoor air forever is actually easier
English

@bryan_kirschner @amandalhu … forever? All of us should do all those things … forever? If the vaccines weren’t the cavalry we’d hoped for, what is said cavalry? What saves us from having to revamp our entire behavior and society around one virus?
English

@JeffHaws @amandalhu All the vax of course &
1 Do things outdoors, or
2 Wear N95 or better, or
3 =>12 ACH filtration, <600 ppm C02
If you have means & privilege 3 isn't hard
Tragedy is we're leaving it to individuals who may not vs ending the pandemic by forcing the issue w/with Federal $/rules
English

@bryan_kirschner @amandalhu And if that is true, what are you gonna do? The vaccine doesn’t prevent you from getting Covid, so what are your options? I’m asking this seriously. If the #1 thing you must not do is get Covid, how do you accomplish said thing?
English

@amandalhu Ironically the upshot is that if it were true (it's not) that "you need to get sick sometimes to stay healthy" then the NUMBER ONE THING you MUST NOT DO is "get COVID" bc it nerfs your immune system for all those "necessary" illnesses... 🤦♂️
English

@Mr_Rutherford It'd be even more miraculous if Twitter had an edit button.
