Our whole health insurance system is based on the idea that most people won't fight denials or that they are ignorant of their rights to fight denials. It benefits you to understand your insurance and what your rights are as a customer. They WILL deny just to see if you'll fight it. Fight it and their house of cards quickly comes down when they realize they're dealing with someone who knows their shit.

@Benefitsguynick I think our two main problems are: 1) There is no 100% solution. Someone is going to be unhappy 2) For every piece of patchwork legislation implemented, we will need more patchwork legislation implemented.

The true fix to healthcare requires everyone from government to patient to be on the same boat and rowing in the same direction. Reality is that is never happening so the goal needs to be how can help as many people as we can get to the best situation possible. Which means there may be several right answers.
