Today is Dwarfism Awareness Day! Brody was born with a rare form of dwarfism called diastrophic dysplasia. It affects 1 in every 500,000 kids and mom and I are genetic carriers of the gene. Holly likely is too even though we are all average height. It commonly comes with club feet, scoliosis, cleft palate, cervical kyphosis, hearing loss, and breathing issues since it affects cartilage. It does not affect Brody (or anyone else with it) cognitively. Brody got all of the main characteristics except for breathing issues and has had 7 surgeries to assist him with any complications from his condition. If there are any questions you have about Brody’s condition or about parenting a kid with his condition, go ahead and ask!

So far this lavender is a pain in the ass to not have come out pink in the game no matter what hex code I use in Team Builder. NOT a finished product. Work in progress. #CFB27

One of the most jarring things about adulthood is the realization of how many truly incompetent people are in the most important jobs. When I was a kid, I just assumed everyone “important” was smart or they wouldn’t be important. Boy, was that fucking wrong.

Wanted to provide an update on @DScottFritchen - his surgery went well and he is currently recovering in Kansas City. It is amazing to see so many K-Staters reaching out. Continued prayers for the Fritchen family. #Family
