We need to stop pretending the movies were perfect adaptations. They sucked in a lot of ways. Just to list a few things they fucked up off the top of my head: -Ruined Ron in favor of Hermione -Ginny was not Ginny -Made HBP a comedy when it should have been the second or third darkest film -Removed all the mystery aspects from GOF when it was written as a mystery book -Removed almost all of the Voldemort memories (one of the most important parts of the main villain) -Didnโ€™t get the Quidditch World Cup -Missed 80% of Quidditch games at Hogwarts -Made those who havenโ€™t read the books want Harry & Hermione together (Have Steve Kloves to thank for that) -Took away Grindelwaldโ€™s redemption in favor of making him tell Voldemort to kill Dumbledore instead -Completely changed Siriusโ€™s character in OOTP And I could list 50 other things that they didnโ€™t have time to cover, and Iโ€™ll probably think of another 20 things they messed up if I actually sit down and think about it. The movies were great, but letโ€™s not pretend theyโ€™re perfect.

Why are they remaking Harry Potter when there's no problem with the current movies?

@aknox92 @neontaster Threads is as big as Twitter now, just not talked about since it's driven by smallish accounts and there aren't really any huge celebrities or people "of influence" posting there (other than automatic cross posts from IG).

@neontaster Threads even came with a built in userbase and massive financial resources. And they didn't know how to stop brands from taking over the timeline lmfao.

It's only been tried like six different times - first by the right with stuff like Gab, Parler, and Truth social, and then post-Musk with Mastodon and Bluesky and Threads. And that isn't even mentioning the other random attempts at a Twitter killer like Ello.
Nate Silver@NateSilver538

It can't be *that* hard to create a version of Twitter/X that removes some of the groupthink but still promotes high-quality engagement and content. And is a portal to the rest of the internet rather than a closed ecosystem, always one of the good things about pre-Elon Twitter.

@conor64 @SwipeWright The graphic colors the Marxist Leninist Jackson Hinkle as "right". Careful what you extrapolate from such a flawed premise.

More viewpoint diversity would be better, but that's impossible to create when one side actively rejects it. Before Elon bought Twitter, the right created alternative platforms out of necessity because the left severely censored right-wing views. When Elon bought Twitter, the left voluntarily created alternative platforms specifically to avoid contact with right-wing views, not because they were being censored. So when leftists criticize X for its users skewing right, that's their own fault. They could always just... start posting on X to balance things out. Bluesky is even more ideologically skewed than X, but to the left. But the right isn't able to meaningfully increase viewpoint diversity there because they get banned for uttering basic facts.
Nate Silver@NateSilver538

These are the Twitter/X accounts with the most engagement so far in 2026. I suppose I had some intuition for how bad it was, but jeez, this is what you get when the ecosystem is broken.

@English_Jew It's a bit of a weird cope. No one believes it, and the goal is not that anyone ever would believe it, but the goal is that anyone who cites evidence to the obvious sounds verbose and can be labeled a "Jewish supremacist;" that's the ultimate rhetoric victory for Marxists.

I didn't believe this was real. I went and looked at it directly on Truth Social and I still don't believe what I'm seeing. "Open the Fuckin' Strait, Praise be to Allah" is a hell of an Easter Message from POTUS.

@edwardbrgr It's also not at all the context of the quote. She wasn't even talking about Supergirl, she was saying that she was surprised by the things women go through as leads in big franchise pieces after her experiences on Game of Thrones.

@Whiteboardpoets And at the same time as posts like that go "viral" there are just as many posts from people getting mad at her for mentioning, in an interview, that she faced backlash, for a different role, because she was a woman.

@SonnyBunch Itโ€™s a good formula, Iโ€™m still hoping the DCU will stray away from it at some point. Clayface will be the true test of this.

@SonnyBunch Its also the formula for a lot of comic books. Kinda like being mad that your protagonist in a fantasy story is an orphan, or the protagonists of a sci-fi story being in space.

@nypost If you're acting in a movie, just show up on set, say your lines and fuck off. If you're doing an interview, just plug the movie, talk about how good it's going to be, and fuck off. I'm so tired of this whiny "poor me" bit from these megalomaniacs.

@Devon_Eriksen_ @nypost How? Who's DC attacking here? Big female-led superhero films do get backlash, so being the lead is "something that people comment on". Not "attack", not "hate", just "comment on". As in "It happens." Pretty common topic for a Supergirl film, so it was gonna come up eventually.

The irony of a fragile looking girl playing superwoman. Hollywood is pretty good at social engineering but they're taking it delusionally far, the cognitive dissonance is way too strong. Luckily this is always what happens with ideologies (woke) they become extreme and end up destroying their own image.
