I think the 49ers thought for Romello Height is to replace Bryce Huff as the Niners speed rusher off the edge. That's his game, as he's very light at 239 lbs. Height had 62 pressures in 2025, which was the 7th best mark in college football. Defined athletic build, good burst, great motor, good backside pursuit on run plays. Height, Mykel Williams, Osa Odighizuwa and Nick Bosa on sub downs and passing situations could be fun. #49ers

I grew up in a little railroad/lumbar/coal mining town in the Pacific Northwest. It was a baseball town. Everybody went to church—different denominations of Christianity, but almost everyone attended something. In my graduation class at the time this pic was taken, there were about 220 students. All but 4 were White. We rode our bikes to school without a parental auto escort. We went to the park and played by ourselves without adult supervision. Most people didn't even lock their cars. Nobody was afraid of anything bad happening because it was a real community. We went to school during the week and then saw each other at church on Sunday. Everyone knew everybody, or at least knew someone who knew everybody else. 1-2 degrees of separation. The America I grew up in no longer exists. My little town looks like Mexico, now. You go to church and it's just old people. The ballfields are fenced in, and the playgrounds locked up. It's filled with crime, meth and homeless vagrants. No one dares let their kids go out alone. The town is coasting on fumes and falling apart while filling up on low-income housing. My hometown was killed by people who saw our life as evil, unjust and intolerable. But someday, God willing, they will pay for their treachery.

@nwagoner 100% agree. Lot of the guys in 3rd/4th at OG are pos change guys (Parker, Zuhn, etc), the 2nd rd is perhaps the last chance to get a plug and play OG. My pref with the first 2nd rder is still EMW, but man.. the idea of Pregnon run blocking next to Trent is exciting.

Interested to see #49ers approach tonight: They've been reluctant to take guard or safety early and didn't want to last night, either. But those are the two positions most in need of starting caliber additions. There are some really good options on the board tonight and SF could realistically check both boxes in round 2 and be ready to roll (starter wise) for 2026. Niners would then still have a third and some fourths to add help at edge/WR, which have a lot of depth. A tweak to their preferences on positional value could go a long way toward making a run in 2026, even at the expense of future planning at more premium positions. Not necessarily a right or wrong answer and BPA should be priority but just will be curious to see if they're willing to stray a little bit philosophically.
