This is how the seasonal pattern would affect the average prairie-wide bid over the next 4, 8 and 12 weeks. Let's see how it does.

Why is wheat moving higher? A lot of energy spent on this, that and the other thing. It's almost textbook. Focus on the "what", not the "why".

Not going to rely on ChatGPT any time soon. Just asked about US canola crush capacity and was told it was 6 mln tonnes. I replied that seems too high and was told, just kidding, it's about 2 mln tonnes.

As usual, wheat leading the way higher. Sarcasm aside, just wanted to point out the break higher began before the hubbub in Tehran.

Similar development in canola meal. Likely due to Chinese tariffs. Will it persist?

Bit of a puzzle: It's widely acknowledged the current situation in the Middle East is unpredictable. You'd think this would reduce the number of predictions. And yet they've spiked, what, 100-fold? Can we be honest and just call them what they really are, guesses?

Imagine that! Red spring wheat prices rising at this time of year (even with record production). It's almost like there's some sort of pattern.

You can think I’m being too sensitive or whatever. But as a mother of a child with Down syndrome, seeing that word become acceptable and even popular to use again over the past few months has been the equivalent to a daily punch in the gut.

Should be pretty straightforward predicting the canola price next fall, right? Right?

@Greg_Insightag Lots of bearish things happening in 2025 and yet, the seasonals still held after the "China dip". It's not the "why", it's the "what". When prices drop every summer for every crop, there's no shortage of opinions why. It just does that.

@LeftFieldCR plus we know the USMCA review on July 1, 2026 is coming shortly, which could shake cross-border flows. Thoughts? #canola 3/3

A complete mystery why canola is rising. People look for complicated reasons when it's not complicated.
