$TAO pumps another 10.4% today after completing its first halving event, cutting token emissions by half.

The @TAO_dot_com Bittensor wallet has added thousands of new users in recent weeks and will add millions more. To aid in this effort, we’ve put together walkthroughs for all steps from downloading the app to swapping into subnets. Please share this thread. Vids below. 🤙 $TAO

We're often asked which validator has the best APY and how it's measured. taostats.io/yield has that data. Earlier this week, several @TAO_dot_com stakeholders expressed concern that they weren't seeing the ~7% root APY we were showing. We dug in. What we found: Since early March, @TAO_dot_com's root APY has been under 1%. Why? After working through many possibilities, the team suspected there was a chain bug around hotkey swaps. We gave Claude access to @blockmachine_io to dig through claim storage - and it confirmed the issue. In short: @TAO_dot_com performed hotkey swaps across several subnets earlier this month. During those swaps, the root stake was moved off the root hotkey to the new hotkey — causing root APY to drop in a very unexpected way. Not their fault. A bug in the code. This is the kind of issue only a team living inside the Bittensor code and mechanisms would catch. We've submitted an issue to OTF with a proposed solution, and a hotfix is underway. github.com/opentensor/sub… Taostats is committed to making the Bittensor ecosystem better. Even though this bug only affected other validators - our "competition", but also our colleagues in #Bittensor - we moved quickly to get it resolved so the entire ecosystem can move forward.

Tom Lee is buying in size again. The Ethereum Foundation just completed a 5,000 ETH OTC sale to BitMine at a price of $2,042.96 per ETH. EF says its a "part of their ongoing treasury strategy" and operations. This comes just one day after the new EF mandate doubling down on the cypherpunk philosophy.

We just completed the largest decentralised LLM pre-training run in history: Covenant-72B. Permissionless, on Bittensor subnet 3. 72B parameters. ~1.1T tokens. Commodity internet. No centralized cluster. No whitelist. Anyone with GPUs could join or leave freely. 1/n
